Below Deck Mediterranean has been lacking a consistent chief stew since Hannah Ferrier was fired in Season 5. Now, we’ve got Aesha Scott. But there have been many promising candidates, including Katie Flood, Bugsy Drake, and Tumi Mhlongo. But none have returned from another season.
Aesha has potential because she’s been chief stew on Below Deck Down Under already. Not only that, but Captain Sandy Yawn adores her. Frankly, most viewers like Aesha and her boundless optimism and emotional intelligence.
Sandy thinks “interior is the hardest”
Both Aesha and Captain Sandy appeared on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live to react to the latest drama on board. Namely, the conflict between stews.
Aesha has been trying to navigate the friction between Bri Muller and Ellie Dubiach. It all started over a boy, but now it feels like a massive power trip over laundry room duties. That burn book is unparalleled, even in this series.
Finally, the veteran Bravolebrity decided to go to her Captain for advice. But it turns out that Bri made so many mistakes with Sandy’s laundry that she came to her own conclusion that there’s a massive problem.
Bri got a nice pep talk from Sandy, who advised her to decide how to react to the situation with Ellie. But one final fight between the stews has them both on the bridge fighting for their jobs.
Host Andy Cohen asked Captain Sandy what else Aesha should, or could have done to placate the situation.
“Not one thing. Aesha never stopped working. I’ve always wondered why we don’t have four people on interior and three on deck. Because the interior’s the hardest,” Sandy said.
She then touched on the chief stew “never” taking a break.
“And I watched when you went to take your break. It was crazy. At least stock the bar before you take over the bar. And when Bri brought over one celery stick back,” Sandy recalled.
At least Aesha had a good sense of humor about it all.
Meanwhile, the latest episode ended with Captain Sandy deciding what to do about the stew debacle.
