On the recent episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey, Dolores Catania proposed the idea of a group retreat. She suggested it would be the perfect opportunity to heal some of the ongoing rifts. The RHONJ ladies were at Rachel Fuda’s house for a stay-over and seemed in good spirits. There was overall positive feedback to the idea.
Fast forward to the end of the season, and we know that the retreat did not have the desired intent. Multiple cast members spoke of the impact of the finale conflict being irreversible. And as such, the RHONJ reunion will be in some hybrid form.
So, as Dolores’ role as “Switzerland” is coming into play with the upcoming retreat, what does the group peacekeeper say about the finale?
Dolores calls the finale “a very Jersey moment”
Dolores exclusively told E! News on July 20 that she hoped her co-stars could reconnect on their similarities. Some did find closure, but not in the way that she was hoping for.
“It’s very much a very Jersey moment and there’s a lot of closure in this finale that you’ll see,” she said. “It’s a little sad for me. I don’t know that our friend group can ever come back the same, but that’ll be up for everyone to make their own opinions.”
Teresa Giudice and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, are still estranged. Danielle Cabral and Jennifer Aydin were feuding at the time. Jennifer Fessler and Rachel made up on the recent episode, but did it last the season?
“I just regret that everybody couldn’t come together the way I would like,” Dolores said of the cast drama. “We are a beautiful group of women who have the same hearts and the same love for our families and our children and we have that in common. My biggest regret is that I just would love to have seen family come together and friendships come together and we just couldn’t seem to do that.”
As for the reunion, Dolores is remaining positive that progress can be made within the group.
“There’s always hope,” she shared.
