Two years ago, Danni Baird walked into the arms of Nick Volz. This relationship came after Danni left Southern Charm, so we never saw her new man on Bravo. If you ask me though, Danni likely prefers this, because her “Friend Of” role brought a lot of drama into her camp. But now, Danni’s a mom, and most recently, a fiance, with (hopefully) far less drama in her life.
Times have changed, don’t ya know, don’t ya know
Danni and Nick have been together for two years. Their son Yates is now six months old. Overall, it’s a great time to lock things down, which Nick has just done. In an interview with PEOPLE, Danni elaborated on her man’s proposal.
“We had just driven five hours back from Lake Keowee, where we were visiting my parents, and he was like, ‘Do you want to go for a stroll at the Battery?’ And I thought he just wanted to stretch his legs, but [the] next thing I knew, I turned around and he was down on one knee, telling me, ‘This is long overdue,’ ” Danni gushed.
Originally, Danni and Nick wanted a fast courthouse wedding. It was supposed to happen before their son’s arrival. However, their little boy was born two-and-a-half weeks early. “We were like, ‘We’ll just wait and have an actual wedding,’ ” Danni recalled.
As for when their ceremony is taking place, they’d like to see their wedding happening before Yates’ first birthday. “We have a couple of months to plan it, but we’ll keep things small,” Danni explained. She also noted that she and Nick are house-hunting. In this economy, that isn’t an easy task, so Godspeed you two.
Agreeing, Danni joked “We’ve got a lot going on.” For the most part, Danni isn’t sure how they will plan their wedding under such a short timeframe. “But we always find a way,” she ended.
