Scheana Shay denies she was being messy about the estrangement between Ariana Madix and her brother Jeremy Madix.
On May 22, the Vanderpump Rules star shared a video of her husband Brock Davies, their 3-year-old daughter Summer, and herself at Jeremy’s birthday party. Jeremy’s fiancée Rachael is also seen in the video, but there’s no sign of Ariana.
Scheana and Brock have been spending more time with Jeremy in the past few months since he went public earlier this year about his estrangement from his sister. But the Good as Gold singer insists she wasn’t trying to meddle in Madix family business by sharing the video.
Where’s Ariana?
First, can I just say that Scheana can’t even carry the melody of “Happy Birthday” without autotune? Yikes.
A Bravo fan questioned Scheana’s intentions with the comment, “I could be reading too much into it, but did Scheana purposely show the whole table to make it known that Ariana is not spending her brother’s birthday with him?”
But the Apples singer claimed she wasn’t throwing any shade at her longtime bestie. “Def reading too much into it,” she responded. “I was simply showing my daughter singing and his fiancée.”
Jeremy explained in March that he’s not speaking to his sister due to the strained relationship between Ariana and his fiancée, and it has nothing to do with Scandoval. “I just want to clarify that I haven’t talked to my sister due to me having to stand up for my fiancée,” he said at the time.
“I was put in a position where I choose my sister, or do I choose the person I’m going to spend the rest of my life with?” he clarified. “No one can really put their finger on why that [was going on]. Ariana is a sweet, kind girl. I love her so much.”
They’ll be close again
He’s also confident that they’ll reunite in the future.
“I reached out to her in December basically just saying, ‘I love you so much. I would love to talk to you soon,’” he shared. “She never opened it or responded, so I tried. I haven’t heard from her, and I would love to hear from her when she can … I miss her, and I would love to hear from her.”
“That’s my sister,” he added. “She loves me very much. She’s always kind of seen herself as my protector, and I [hope] we could get to a point of being closer. That’s kind of what I’m yearning for.”
As for Scheana, on her Scheananigans podcast in April, she said, “I’ve always been close with Jeremy. They are both family to me. He is like a little brother and has been for over a decade.”
