It was news in real time when the Vanderpump Rules cast filmed in Lake Tahoe over the summer of 2023, and it seemed like Tom Sandoval was working his way back into the group. A group picture of the cast showed Scheana Shay with her arm around the disgraced reality TV star. The internet ignited in response, and the Good as Gold singer took some heat for the symbolic gesture.
That footage from that trip is currently airing, and the situation is being revisited. Now, there is a renewed interest in the matter, especially since VPR fans are now privy to the interactions within the cast. Naturally, Ariana Madix is feeling a certain way about her ex being absorbed back into the group.
Scheana is “mad” but won’t “keep hating” Sandoval on Ariana’s behalf
Bravo shared a sneak peek of a conversation between Ariana and Katie Maloney about a co-star hypothetically wanting “to be friends” with Sandoval. Ariana made it clear that she would distance herself from such a person.
The clip, which aired after the February 27 episode of Vanderpump Rules, continued with a call from Scheana to the Something About Her co-owner. Scheana felt a moral dilemma about wanting to mend fences with Sandoval.
“I’m mad that he did all of this and I miss my friend,” Scheana stated as Katie watched on. “I can’t keep hating him for you.”
During a conversation with Lisa Vanderpump in the February 20 episode, Scheana again justified pursuing a friendship with Sandoval.
“This hasn’t been easy, for me especially. He was genuinely one of the best friends I’ve ever had in my life. Is it worth losing Ariana?” she asked the restauranteur. “Ariana made it very clear that anyone who chooses to remain friends with Tom Sandoval is basically dead to her. But at the same time if someone is really struggling at this level, how do I keep coming for him?”
Such is Scheana’s current dilemma. Even her husband, Brock Davies, took some heat for chilling with Sandoval. He’s still got a bit of kryptonite attached to his name.
