It seems that JT Thomas confronting Austen Kroll had little effect on his sense of responsibility, so maybe it’s time to try the same conversation from another source. But knowing that it’s Austen, it seems highly unlikely that the Southern Charm bad boy will sincerely take stock of his sloppy behavior with Olivia Flowers and Taylor Ann Green. Despite him being in therapy, and making a lot of noise about it.
Of course, this is the result of Austen smooching up with Taylor after romancing her best friend Olivia for quite a while. The illicit duo initially decided to deny deny deny. But once Taylor confessed to a kiss, the whole charade came under fire.
Now, with the Season 9 finale ready to air tonight (January 4), the saga continues. Taylor has demanded forgiveness from Olivia. For her part, the wronged friend felt uncomfortable moving ahead with the friendship. The two have not made up. Not only that, but Olivia finally confronted Austen in an exclusive sneak peek. Olivia said the friendship with Austen is “not a good” one in the Southern Charm Season 9 finale preview
“I know it’s been inconsistent with us, but it’s not a good friendship,” Olivia is seen telling Austen in the clip. “It just seems like nothing is genuine.”
The Pillows and Beer podcast co-host insisted that he’s “just trying to be here” for his former flame. Indeed, Austen stepped in the friendship role when Olivia tragically lost her brother, Conner, in January 2023.
“I’ve only ever done that for you,” he claimed. “When have I not been there for you?”
Perhaps Olivia could have pointed out his kiss with her friend, then subsequent denial. But she only accused him of getting “off” on “getting two girls [to fight].”
“Look at the paper trail of pissed off women you leave,” Olivia said. “We all have the same thing to say about you.”
“These women don’t have the end result,” Austen responded in his defense.
Undeterred, the Southern Charm beauty spat out, “At what point do you want to stop having conversations and actually just go have them with yourself?”
Perhaps a further conversation with his therapist is in order. Could Austen indeed take responsibility and change his life? Well, he has a new girlfriend. Does the relationship point to a new and improved Austen? Or does his new lady simply accept him for who he is?
