Dr. Nicole Martin Calls Out Annemarie Wiley After ‘Belittling’ Sutton Stracke

During a recent episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, newbie Annemarie Wiley made a house call. Unfortunately, it was during Sutton Stracke’s celebration for her boutique. The nurse anesthetist questioned Sutton about drinking while taking the medication Gabapentin. Then she talked to Sutton about her “narrowing of the esophagus.” She told Sutton that she needed to chew her food more. An uncomfortable Sutton remarked, “Why am I having a doctor’s appointment right now?”

Dr. Nicole Martin didn’t enjoy Annemarie’s lecture

Plenty of fans thought that Annemarie shouldn’t have discussed the issue with Sutton on camera. Now another medical professional has spoken out about Annemarie’s actions. The Real Housewives of Miami star, and anesthesiologist, Dr. Nicole Martin sounded off in an Instagram video. “It does not matter where you fall on the spectrum — all the way from being a tech to being a doctor. You joined the profession to be an advocate for patients, and as such, it is not our place to belittle, question, or demean a patient’s symptoms or diagnosis,” Nicole explained.

“We are there to facilitate and help the patient through the medical process, and it was just very uncomfortable and cringey to watch Annemarie belittle Sutton’s symptoms in such a way,” the mom-to-be added.

Nicole wrote in the caption of her video, “Let’s not do this #gaslighting. Gaslighting can happen in medicine too. Medical gaslighting occurs when a medical professional dismisses or downplays a patient’s physical symptoms or attributes them to something else, like a psychological condition,” she wrote. “Numerous factors can contribute to this behavior, but ultimately the patient is impacted so let’s do better.”

Nicole wasn’t a fan of the way Annemarie treated Sutton. And she wasn’t alone.

Paging Dr. Tiffany Moon for her opinion

The Real Housewives of Dallas alum Dr. Tiffany Moon, who is an anesthesiologist, also weighed in on the esophagus drama. “I found that to be incredibly rude. But yeah, let’s not use our medical knowledge to come at people, especially when you’re wrong,” she stated.

Annemarie is coming on too strong and is glued to OG Kyle Richards. At this point, I’m rooting for her to be a one-and-done housewife.

You can catch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. And Real Housewives of Miami Season 6 continues Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
