Who else had Alexis Bellino and John Janssen getting together on their 2023 bingo card? No? Me neither! John and Shannon Beador broke up in November 2022, and the dude seems to be moving straight to the outer circle of former Real Housewives of Orange County stars. Honestly, it feels like he is the new Slade Smiley—gross. While Shannon is still licking her wounds, Alexis has moved on to her dream life and even has the nerve to hold hands in public. But does Alexis owe anyone anything? Or does she have every right to swoop in on Shannon’s sloppy seconds?
No One Talk About the Timeline
Fans of RHOC learned that the two lovebirds met through mutual friends in November 2023, exactly a year after Shannon’s break up. Again, not surprisingly, Alexis and John met at The Quiet Woman, one of Shannon’s favorite eateries. Even though neither one has used the boyfriend/girlfriend term in public, they are getting cozy. While I don’t think there was foul play, it just seems odd that there was no one else to date in the entirety of Orange County.
Did Alexis Overstep?
Alexis was cornered on the red carpet with Access Hollywood, stating she was “happy” John had entered her life and hinted before Shannon’s DUI that the Real for Real founder tried to pick a fight with her. Now, I am no fan of Jesus Jugs, as I find her extremely annoying and lacking self-awareness, but I don’t think she broke girl code. As any aged woman knows since literally birth, the number one rule of girl code is you DO NOT communicate, flirt with, or date any man that your friend has dated.
But here is the catch: I don’t think Shannon and Alexis were ever real friends. Their time never overlapped, and according to Alexis, she had never even met her. Alexis made it clear that she “never has said hi to Shannon. I’ve never filmed with Shannon. I’ve never been friends with Shannon. I don’t owe her anything.” I think it is safe to say she was never close with the blonde.
Shannon Isn’t Pleased
Let’s be honest for a second. No one is going to be happy to see that their ex has moved on, but it has to sting a bit more that an ex moved on with a fellow Real Housewives star. The nail in the coffin for Shannon, who shared with E! News she felt “hurt,” was because John was aware that Alexis’ ex-husband, Jim Bellino, sued Shannon for defamation back in 2018. Shannon shared, “I was financially and emotionally devastated for years. And I won. But it devastated me financially. And I’m a single mom. John’s aware of that.”
To me, it feels like Shannon has more of a bone to pick with John than Alexis. The vice president of Wood Gutmann & Bogart Insurance Brokers has been looking a bit slimy lately. According to Shannon, “I’ve been hurt a lot in the last couple of weeks because, No. 1, John said that he didn’t want to be in the public eye, and he’s thrust himself more into the public eye at this point. So, I’m quite confused about that.” I am confused, too, Shannon.
This Could Just Be a PR Stunt
The rumor mills have been working overtime with hints that Alexis may be making her comeback. Even though she claims to be loving her current life, it is hard to pass up an orange and that Bravo paycheck.
If the Bravo stars align, producers should be smart enough to get Alexis and Shannon back on the show at the same time so they can fuel the fires. Who doesn’t want to see two middle-aged women fight over Slade 2.0? The season would be unbeatable as there would surely be fireworks. For now, I don’t think Alexis has anything to apologize about when it comes to Shannon.
