Out of all the Housewives I expected to agree with, Mary Cosby was not on my BINGO card. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City “friend of” has some pretty unhinged takes, both on and off the show. But a broken clock is right twice a day, I suppose.
The McDonald’s-loving reality star puzzled fans when she came back after being booted from the show at the end of Season 2. Given that she skipped the reunion, it seemed safe to assume it was curtains for her. But with RHOSLC drama queen Jen Shah out of the picture, Bravo likely needed someone to pick up the slack. Even if it meant bringing Mary back in a smaller capacity.
Mary wants to make the show better
Speaking of Jen, Mary certainly has some thoughts on her as well. She recently told Page Six that Jen is a “stain” on the franchise. “I’m just trying to get, like, the stain off the show from her, trying to re-innovate the show,” Mary explained.
Inexplicably, Mary shared that she wants to be the one to “create a whole ‘nother place … a safe place” for the cast. She added, “That’s what I’m aiming for.” If that’s the case, Mary has terrible aim.
“Good for her”
After publicly proclaiming her innocence (over and over), Jen shocked her castmates during Season 3 when she pleaded guilty to wire fraud in the federal case against her. Jen was infamously chased down by police while filming the show.
For her role in a telemarketing scheme that targeted and scammed the elderly, Jen was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison. She is currently serving her sentence and according to her manager, teaching workout classes.
Jen’s manager shared, “She created it in prison. It started off as something she was doing to improve her fitness. As she went in, she lost a good amount of weight. She developed the Shah-mazing abs class. All the ladies started coming up to her in the yard and they would do workout segments.”
So what does Mary think of this effort to cast Jen in a better light? “Good for her. Make the best of what you’ve got. Good for her,” Mary stated simply. But she stopped short of saying she would take workout advice from Jen. The prominent preacher concluded, “No, I’m not taking anything from Jen Shah. Bless her heart. I know she’s doing what she needs to do.”
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
