Ariana Madix fulfilled a longtime dream when she joined the celebrities on Dancing with the Stars. Little did she know just how fulfilled that dream would end up.
Season 32 has shown some of Ariana’s most intense highs and lows from 2023, but all for her betterment. Now, after all the dancing and emotions, Ariana may have a fair shot of walking away with the Mirrorball trophy.
The Vanderpump Rules star has moved up the leaderboard, sitting second from the top in terms of scores. Of course, the fans might strongly pull through for her. With winning as a very real possibility, Ariana had the opportunity to reflect on the DWTS journey.
Ariana is hopeful but won’t “jinx” herself
In an interview with The Wrap, Ariana spoke about the DWTS experience, and how her expectations measured up to reality. “I just hoped for the best and prepared as best as I could,” she said. “You just go out there and do your best. And just hope that somebody else sees something in your performance.”
Of her previous dance experience, she said, “In high school I was the worst one on the dance team. Sure, if you want to call that experience.” To that point, Ariana spoke about the positive mental changes DWTS brought on for her: “It’s given me a new appreciation for my body and what it’s capable of. And the feeling that I deserve to be here that I don’t think I had before.”
As for her chances at winning, Ariana said, “I don’t want to think about it because I don’t want to jinx myself. It’s a really amazing thought. But you don’t want to be overhyped. You want to be underrated, if that makes sense.” She also expressed her gratitude toward the Bravo fans who supported her: “They are some of the best fans out there.”
Dancing with the Stars continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+. Vanderpump Rules returns to Bravo in January 2024.
