Season 9 of Southern Charm is in full swing, and there’s plenty of mess thanks to Austen Kroll’s lack of proper boundary recognition. So there’s conflict between the ladies of the show and Taylor Ann Green. Seemingly the new female pariah, in the absence of Kathryn Dennis.
Of course, the OG cast member from 2014 is gone after quitting before filming for the current season began. A percentage of fans may miss her. She did bring a lot of drama and was often feuding with the other ladies. Some may not miss the controversy Kathryn often stirred up.
But those that do miss her presence can rejoice a bit. During BravoCon 2023 this past weekend, Craig Conover and Shep Rose revealed that they had filmed a scene with Kathryn.
Craig hopes Kathryn will return
“We love Kathryn,” Craig said during a panel on Sunday afternoon. “Kathryn is an integral part of this show. Shep [Rose] and I actually filmed with her this year. I don’t think it was supposed to happen but we did it and I think they did it as a favor to us because we love her so much. I hope we get to see it — we probably won’t.”
Craig acknowledged Kathryn’s importance on the show and revealed hopes for a comeback.
He added, “We would love for her to come back. I think the door is always open. I think she’s working on herself and has a lot of work that she has to do before she comes back but I hope she’s doing well.”
Of course, the Sewing Down South founder is referring to Kathryn’s tumultuous personal life. She lost custody of her two children with Thomas Ravenel earlier this year after failing several drug tests. More recently, Kathryn was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run near a school in South Carolina.
Shep noted Kathryn’s young age when she started reality TV and gave her a lot of grace for her mistakes.
“We have grown up [and] we’ve all come a long way and you’ve seen the bumps and the bruises. Unfortunately, Kathryn stumbles sometimes. We do love her because there’s a person inside her that we know is a good person,” Shep added.
As far as Kathryn missing BravoCon, Craig revealed that she “wishes she was here with all of you more than anything.”
“Our goal is for next year that she comes back and gets to see you guys,” he added.
