90 Day Fiancé Season 2 was a very mixed bag. Though the season was host to one of the most memorable couples in the franchise, most of the others were extremely forgettable. It’s tough to say whether newbies to the show should give this season a chance. However, if it’s true love you’re looking for, Season 2 may be the right place, as the success rate wasn’t terrible. Here are the 90 Day Fiancé Season 2 couples and where they’re at today.
90 Day Fiancé Season 2 Success Rate:
Season 2 lies somewhere in the middle in terms of 90 Day Fiancé success rate. With 50-percent of the couples still together, there are definitely seasons that have fared worse. However, there have certainly been seasons that have done better. Overall, the 90 Day Fiancé Season 2 couples are middle of the road, and their journeys were all quite different.
Danielle Mullins & Mohamed Jbali – Split
Easily the most compelling couple of the season, Danielle Mullins and Mohamed Jbali brought the drama. They also gave viewers the first bona fide K-1 visa scam. While the Season 1 couples all had genuine intentions, and are still together today, Mohamed very clearly had zero interest in Danielle from the minute he landed on American soil.
Despite Danielle’s desire, Mohamed seemed to gag at the thought of intimacy with his fiancé. Viewers were stunned when the couple actually tied the knot at the end of the season. However, the 90 Day Fiancé Season 2 couple didn’t last long. Though they got through two seasons of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, Danielle and Mohamed eventually went through a bitter divorce.
Over time, Danielle got over her heartbreak, and she and Mohamed seem to be on good (or at least decent) terms. She was last seen in the franchise looking for love on the first season of 90 Day: The Single Life.
Chelsea Macek & Yamir Castillo – Split
Another 90 Day Fiancé Season 2 couple who, not-shockingly called it quits is Chelsea Macek and Yamir Castillo. The couple met in Yamir’s home country of Nicaragua when he was a singer in the boy band Myla Vox. Both were young at the time and the decks were very much stacked against them.
Like the other 90 Day Fiancé Season 2 couples, Chelsea and Yamir got married at the end of the season, and actually stayed together for a few years. However, they eventually decided that their marriage wasn’t worth fighting for, as Chelsea and Yamir had developed vastly different goals.
The couple broke up in 2017, and Chelsea has since remarried, while Yamir is pursuing a music career in Chicago.
Jason Hitch & Cássia Tavares – Split
Cássia Tavares was another 90 Day Fiancé woman to get the gold digger treatment on her season. Due to her significant age gap with her fiancé Jason Hitch, fans were suspicious of the Brazilian woman from the get go.
Of course, it didn’t help that Jason sought to live an extremely frugal life, and wasn’t a very good partner to Cássia. After saying ‘I do’ at the end of Season 2, the couple’s relationship got dangerously rocky. There were domestic violence charges filed against Jason that were later dropped, and after several false starts, the two finally got divorced.
Though Cássia seems to have moved on with her life and is now in a much better place, Jason is not so much. Jason declined to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and as a result, he passed away in 2021 after contracting the virus.
Justin & Evelyn Halas – Still Together
Many of the 90 Day Fiancé Season 2 couples who stayed together are more forgettable than the ones who split up. That’s probably because less drama = more stable relationships. This was very much evident with Justin and Evelyn Halas.
Try as the show might to create drama between Justin and Evelyn, there just wasn’t much friction between the two. The only major issue was that Justin hadn’t told his family that he was engaged to Evelyn. It was something for them to work through, but not something that was a big enough deal to break them up.
The couple’s story ended with a tidy bow when they got married in Season 2, and since then it seems to have been smooth sailing for Justin and Evelyn. The couple are still together and welcomed a baby boy in 2020.
Brett Otto & Daya DeArce – Still Together
Talk about forgettable, Brett Otto and Daya DeArce were so clearly solid that they made for bad TV. Brett and Daya met on an international online dating service, as has become the norm for many 90 Day Fiancé couples. After Daya moved to the U.S. from The Philippines, there was some friction between her and Brett’s roommates and mother, but they still got married.
The couple are still together today and have even welcomed a daughter. It’s great that they seem to have a wonderful relationship, and it’s even better that they’ve stayed away from the franchise.
Danny & Amy Frishmuth – Still Together
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Danny and Amy Frishmuth are still together, as the couple are ultra-religious. Most of the drama during their storyline revolved around their efforts to remain virgins until after marriage and Danny’s racist father.
Danny and Amy tied the knot in Season 2 and are still together today, now with three children. However, the couple burned up all their goodwill with fans by sharing their homophobic views online.
