The saga between Meghan King and ex-husband Jim Edmonds continues. The former marrieds, who share three children together, have been at each other’s throats ever since their 2019 divorce. And the Real Housewives of Orange County alum hasn’t stayed quiet about their issues, either.
Us Weekly is reporting on their latest feud, in which Meghan took to her Instagram Stories to shoot down Jim’s recent claims that she wouldn’t let him see their kids. Meghan wrote, “I’m sick of verbal and emotional abuse not being classified as ‘abuse.’ The courts don’t help protect me, my country club doesn’t protect me, the police don’t enforce, lawyers don’t want to deal with this, so I’m taking matters into my own hands.”
Her clap back came just a few days after Jim griped about parenting with Meghan in his Instagram Stories. The former baseball player stated, “Sad when your ex tells the kids, you don’t want to see them when you’re busy then doesn’t let you see them when you’re out of town. Unknown …” All this despite Jim whining about Meghan not leaving him alone in the media.
Jimmy Dad Jeans went the teenage-emo-vague-post route. So, his rep clarified that his statement referenced the claim that Meghan hired a nanny for a weekend that she was attending a retreat. The rep told Page Six, “Jim thinks it’s really sad the kids are being left with a nanny instead of their father, who changed his Super Bowl plans so he could be with them. Hopefully, Meghan enjoys her narcissism retreat.”
Wow. How kind of Jim, a grown ass man and father, to change his sports ball plans to take care of his own children! But Meghan can’t take a retreat without it being narcissistic? Make it make sense!
Plenty of fans also see it my way, and one reached out to Megs in her DMs after her post. The user recognized that Meghan has to go through all these custody issues in the public eye and offered her support.
Meghan posted a screen shot of the message and explained, “I want everyone to understand this. So many others don’t have a voice and I can only effect change by speaking out and using this platform. I want my children to be proud of their mother for not taking this sitting down,” she said. “Well behaved women rarely make history and I plan to be on the right side of it.”
RHOC viewers didn’t exactly see a harmonious marriage playing out during Meghan’s time as a housewife. But things only got worse during their messy divorce and the two haven’t seen eye to eye ever since.
Meghan filed a temporary restraining order against Jim in June 2022. She alleged that he displayed “frequent and consistent verbal abuse” toward her on their court-monitored coparenting app.
Despite Jim’s rep calling the request “baseless,” the order was granted and then eventually dropped three months later.
