Congrats are in order! Despite a rocky road of a relationship, Khloe Kardashian and ex Tristan Thompson have found a way to peacefully co-parent. The Kardashians star gave birth to their daughter, True Thompson, in 2018. And now she’s going to be a big sister!
A rep for Khloe told People, “We can confirm True will have a sibling who was conceived in November.” Their second child together is via surrogate. Her rep added, “Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing. We’d like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloe can focus on her family.”
Even with the joyous news, a source noted that the the former couple are not headed towards a reconciliation. They stated, “Khloe and Tristan are not back together and have not spoken since December outside of co-parenting matters.” The insider also added, “The baby was conceived via surrogate before it was revealed to Khloe and the public that Tristan was having a baby with someone else in December.”
After more than one public cheating scandal, Khloe and Tristan officially called it quits in January when it was revealed that Tristan fathered another child while still with Khloe. The baby boy was born in December to Maralee Nichols, a woman he had a short affair with in 2021. Tristan also has a 5 year-old son with another ex.
Khloe is likely overjoyed at the news, given her past struggles conceiving. She opened up about her fertility issues on 2021 episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Khloe shared that doctors told her she would be considered “high risk” if she carried another pregnancy. She told sister Kim Kardashian in the episode that she was considering surrogacy.
Khloe stated on the show, “I’m not gonna get into specifics on-camera. But they said it’s like an 80-something percent chance that I will miscarry. I almost miscarried with True at the beginning. But I didn’t know that was like a lingering thing.” Khloe continued in a confessional, “This is all really shocking to me. All I’m trying to do is bring more love into my life and into my family, and I just seem to be running into more and more roadblocks. It’s really hard for me to digest.”
Kim, who had two of her four children via surrogate, extended her support. She shared, “I honestly had the best experience with surrogacy. And I think that you know what giving birth feels like – I always say, if you can do it, it’s such an amazing experience. But you’ll see, the love that you’ll have for your kids is exactly the same. There’s no difference, except that there was someone else that was the carrier.”
A little over a year ago, a source revealed that Khloe was “frustrated” about the timing of having more children. They explained, “She really, really wants another baby and finds it hard to be patient. But she is trying to stay positive. She believes and hopes that it will happen this year.”
And on an episode of Lady Parts with Sarah Hyland, Khloe was candid about her family planning journey. Said Khloe, “If you do need assistance in fertility, it’s much more challenging during COVID. They say, ‘If you wanna make God laugh, tell him your plans.’ So the one time I’m actually really trying to plan, God is saying, ‘Uh uh, you can’t make your plans like this!’ ”
The 38 year-old mega star continued, “My plan was to have kids closer in age. But with COVID and everything, my plan’s been a little delayed. I definitely do want more kids. I have so many brothers and sisters. I think it’s such a blessing — especially during these times — to have a family member or people that you can play with and rely on and just have a buddy through life.”
