RHOSLC Season 2 premiere Jennie Nguyen new Housewife Duy

Jennie Nguyen’s 9-Year-Old Daughter Charges Up To $245 For Videos On Cameo

Real Housewives can bring the drama, but it’s always the scenes with the family that can redeem even the most polarizing person.  Table flipping, hair pulling, and personal vendettas are great, but it’s the times we see a housewife with their kids that makes for memorable TV moments as well.

Take Jennie Nguyen from Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.  The former RHOSLC star was cruising through her freshman season and seemed rather well received by viewers and costars, despite rubbing Mary Cosby the wrong way by challenging her inconsistent behavior and racially insensitive comments about the Asian community.  Jennie may have also regretted being in Lisa Barlow’s corner by the end of the reunion, but overall Jennie could have had longevity on the show had not her racially insensitive posts mocking the Black Lives Matter movement resurfaced.

But despite the change in public opinion of her, looking back on Season Two, some of Jennie’s best scenes were at home with her three children.  Bright, funny, and charming 15-year old Atlas, 12- year old Triton, and 9-year old Karlyn Tran brought some smiles and good feelings when they appeared on camera with their mother.  Jennie’s youngest was especially charismatic onscreen, and that perhaps led to Jennie and husband Duy Nguyen’s decision to allow Karlyn to sell cameos online.

The controversial decision came to light recently when Karlyn’s Cameo page was discovered.  In the description, Karlyn identifies herself as a Real Housewives Salt Lake City star, author, professional joke teller, and scientist.  She shares some videos showcasing her talents, as well as glowing reviews from satisfied customers.

But despite the feeling of wanting to support a bright, confident young girl in her business venture, fans are questioning whether Karlyn going on Cameo will make her vulnerable to haters and online predators. Clearly, Jennie and Duy decided the positives outweighed the potential risks.

But is there another aspect as well?  Maybe a push for financial gain?  Recall back in October 2021 when a young woman claiming to be Jennie’s niece surfaced on social media.  She called her aunt and uncle out for faking story lines in a bid to stay on the show.  She also accused them of being, “willing to do anything for money.”  The young woman’s video went viral for a short time, before disappearing into oblivion, seemingly leaving her accusations with very little credibility.

So there is speculation.  But, RHOSLC fans can certainly attest to Jennie’s devotion to her children.  Let’s keep it positive and wish Karlyn the best in her ventures.

TELL US- WHAT DO YOU THINK OF JENNIE AND DUY’S DECISION TO LET KARLYN DO CAMEOS?  WOULD YOU LET YOUR CHILD DO THE SAME?  WOULD YOU PAY $245 FOR A VIDEO FROM KARLYN?
