Melissa Gorga Denies Picking Her Tagline And Says She “Hates” It

Waking up in the morning, thinking about so many things. I just wish things would get better, like my weekly TV lineup. I’m not-so-patiently awaiting the next season of Real Housewives of New Jersey because I just miss them, OK? I can’t wait to see Teresa Giudice in her element — with a full love tank and a fiercely loyal attitude that may make her throw a table or two. It sounds like Margaret Josephs will be her opponent, considering she brings up some not-so-nice rumors about Tre’s lover Luis Ruelas. Not to mention it sounds like Dolores Catania brings out her Patterson side when someone tries to mess with her. It truly cannot come fast enough.

Because RHONJ is approaching its premiere date, Bravo unveiled the ladies’ taglines. Some are good, like the always hilarious Jennifer Aydin, who references her nose job. Others are not so good *cough cough* Jackie Goldschneider. Use your words better, writer girl. And then we have the absolutely UNHINGED taglines that make my head spin. Yes, I’m talking about you, Melissa Gorga.

MelGo sometimes likes to reference her convoluted storylines on the show in her intro line. But if her tagline is any indication of the season she has to come, I’m not too excited for it. “Some people are born great and some are born Jersey.” Like, what is she trying to convey with this? Does she mean to totally disrespect the folks in the Garden State? Is Snooki offended? Apparently, I’m not the only one with questions. MelGo decided to take to Instagram to clarify her controversial tagline. (Honestly, I’m surprised she didn’t make the announcement via her new podcast to essentially force us all to listen to it.)

Bravo by Betches captured a screenshot of Melissa’s Instagram story commenting on her line. “Fun fact! I hate my tagline and I definitely didn’t pick it #imnottheboss #idontunderstand in,” she wrote. So now even Melgo is claiming she has no idea how her tagline came to be. I say we just get rid of her intro sequence altogether and replace her with Joe Gorga and Gia Giudice. Because ALL of MelGo’s family members are better at being Real Housewives stars than she is.

The daughter of former RHONJ star Jacqueline Laurita hopped into the comments to back up Melissa’s claims. Ashlee Malleo wrote, “They actually don’t pick their taglines. Suggestions can be made but it’s not up to them. My mom def had some she hated too.” Interesting.

Despite MelGo’s lacking tagline, she’s going to the season in the best place she’s probably ever been with Tre since she hijacked joined the show. They really seemed to bond during Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip and it was fun to watch. However, we all know MelGo wouldn’t have a story if it weren’t for the never-ending tension between the Gorgas and the Giudices. And she probably WON’T be a bridesmaid in Tre’s wedding to Luis. Marge and her pigtails are likely out, too.
