What’s a more polarizing topic these days than Coronavirus? It’s 2021 and still we are divided over personal responsibility, mask-wearing, and mandatory vaccines. Is anybody not over it at this point? And if you’re one of those people that enjoys a little escapism by following reality TV, unfortunately these issues have long ago found their way into the lives of our favorite Bravo-lebrities.
Real Housewives of Orange County star Kelly Dodd Leventhal, for one, was playing loose and fast with the pandemic since March 2020 when she flew to New York just before lock down to shack up with then-fiance Rick Leventhal. She and the former FOX News anchor seemed to take the pandemic lightly since…..March 2020. From the need to wear masks, the severity of COVID-19, and a celebratory “super spreader” event. It’s a true feat that she and Rick did not catch the virus until New Years Eve 2021. And even in that situation, Kelly managed to infuse some drama.
In a poor taste of words that she’s known for, Kelly blamed former RHOC alum Heather Dubrow’s son Nicholas, 16, for infecting her and Rick at a New Year’s Eve party in Aspen, Colorado. After a response from Heather’s lawyer, Kelly was forced to publicly apologize. She posted a video on Instagram displaying the letter and said, “so I got this letter from an attorney for the Dubrow family reminding me I made a statement that may sound like truth, when in fact it was a joke and for that, I am offering my sincere apology.”
This non-apology is as Kelly as it gets. Unfortunately, this meaningless, litigation-induced word salad continues. “I did get COVID at a party New Year’s Eve, and Heather Dubrow’s son and his friends were all there,” the former RHOC star said.
Kelly concluded, “and while I had information leading us all to believe we could’ve gotten COVID from them, because we all, like 24 of us, got COVID that night, we obviously have no way of proving or knowing for sure he or his friends were the source of our infection.”

Kelly got a negative backlash from this poor choice of behavior, not just from fans, but from fellow Bravo stars as well. Below Deck Mediterranean alum Hannah Ferrier was one to make her opinion heard. She’s not one to hold her opinions back either, but Hannah has a much better handle on appropriate behavior.
Putting blame where it’s due, she responded to Kelly’s Instagram post. According to an article from Daily Mail, Hannah wrote, “if you went to a NYE party with 30+ people then you gave yourself covid you f**king moron.”
Well said Hannah. And despite having the fortune of living in Australia during the pandemic, she has a better grasp on covid safety protocol than our RHOC resident misfit. Currently, Hannah is in lock down in Sydney due to a flare up of coronavirus in Australia.
