Just when you thought things couldn’t get any crazier, Married At First Sight comes with more twists and turns. Usually things get interesting when the couples move in together, but not to this level. This season has been riddled with the most drama in the show’s history! Stay tuned, something tells me this is only the beginning.
The newlyweds get a healthy dose of real talk as they meet up with their friends and families for the first time since the weddings. One bride is brought face to face with another significant stranger who will change her life forever. While other couples work to understand accept each other’s differences. Let’s get straight to the recap!
Briana & Vincent
Vincent only made it to the parking lot after storming out of the house the other night. Although he was upset with Briana, he decided to stay and work things out. Sigh! Briana, girl, please get it together. You have a good man, don’t run him off. Later, Vincent meets with one of his friends to update him on the status of his marriage. When he tells his friend why he almost walked out on his wife, his friend laughs. He couldn’t believe that something he perceived as so small, upset Vincent so much. He advises him to get out of his head and try to understand the intentions of his wife. Basically when Briana didn’t react to the situation the way Vincent would have, he was offended. This couple has such promise, if they both are willing to compromise and understand each other’s boundaries, this could be a great love story.
Briana and Vincent invite their families to a housewarming party at their new apartment. It’s the first time some of the family is meeting, so they choose to play a game to break the ice. Initially, Vincent’s mother seems a little hesitant, but by the end of the night she is all smiles. Ultimately, I think the party was a success and I can see these two families getting along well.
Paige & Chris
Chris meets with a friend and his pastor to update them on the recent developments within his marriage. As he recounts all of the sordid details of the last few weeks, both men are shocked. When Chris is told he is being selfish and possibly making a huge mistake, he immediately gets defensive and checks out. Although I have my thoughts about this pastor, he actually brought up a lot of good points about Chris’ disappointing behavior. Normally I wouldn’t advocate for divorce, but I honestly believe it’s in Paige’s best interest. The show did her an extreme disservice matching her with the stranger spouse from hell.
Chris calls Paige to invite her to meet and have a conversation with the mother of his child. Huh? What the hell for? The last time I checked you told your wife you still loved your ex and wanted a divorce. When Paige doesn’t commit to meeting them immediately, Chris seems genuinely surprised. Sigh! I don’t understand why this needs to be dragged out. Once he told me about the child, divorce and the ex, I would have been out of the door for good. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
For some reason, Paige puts herself through a meeting with Chris and his ex/baby mama, Mercedes. Paige is clearly trying very hard to make the situation less awkward. Thankfully, Mercedes is respectful and doesn’t have any ill will towards Paige. I would hate for two beautiful women to argue over this clown. I have to admit, I am struggling to understand the purpose of the meeting. Chris sits there quietly like a child on punishment, while the ladies talk. It isn’t until Paige reveals that she feared she was pregnant too, that Mercedes finally has a strong reaction. She even dares to ask Paige “pregnant by who?”
Instead of an ex, Mercedes seems very much like a current girlfriend. She knew Chris got married, did she really think that they were having bible study every night. Mercedes claims that she has no intention of working things out with Chris. What the hell is going on? I am proud of Paige for laying everything out on the table and keeping a cool head while doing so. This is AWKWARD!!!!!!!!!! But the petty in me is thoroughly entertained, especially seeing Chris get rejected and then have a tantrum as a result. Once he has been outed, he says Paige is rude and storms out. LMAO! Can someone change Chris’ diaper? He clearly pooped his pants when Paige told his “ex” EVERYTHING. Did he expect his wife, to cover for him? This guy is nuts.
Haley & Jacob
Haley meets with a friend to vent about her issues with Jacob. Her friend encourages her to give the process her all, instead of reverting back to old habits. Who is this friend? Maybe she should become one of the experts, because she actually is reasonable and gives good advice.
At the housewarming party, Haley’s friends give him a little more perspective on her commitment issues, when he shares his doubts with them. Meanwhile, one of Jacob’s friends encourages Haley to give him a fair chance and truly get to know him. We all know that Jacob can be a little eccentric, so I’m sure it’s a lot for a person like Haley to try to absorb in such a short period of time. Maybe a housewarming party with friends was just what this couple needed. After learning more about their spouses through their friends, they both sit down and actually talk to each other.
Virginia & Erik
Erik vents to one of his friends about Virginia’s level of independence. He worries that she will always gravitate more towards her friends, than him. At the housewarming, she introduces Erik to some of her friends. Interestingly enough, all of the guests are all men. One of Virginia’s male friends, Cole pulls Erik aside to advise him not to come off as controlling with Virginia. Initially, I thought this was the point things when things were about to go downhill, but Cole actually manages to reassure Erik. I don’t care what Erik says or who he meets, he is not comfortable with his wife having male friends and spending so much time with them. It’s only a matter of time, before this issue comes up again. He already wants her to check in with him every two hours. Insert side eye here.
Clara & Ryan
When the wives get together, Clara talks to the other women about some of the differences she is noticing with her husband. Ryan is a lot more reserved than his wife and it’s even more noticeable in social situations. She also is a little frustrated with him moving at a snail’s pace in the bedroom.
Clara’s friends weren’t able to attend her housewarming, so Haley stands in for them. In a post interview, Clara admits that she is extremely sexually frustrated. She also reveals she has never seen Ryan with his shirt off. What? How is that even possible? Now I am really wondering what is going on under there. Is the man hiding a crazy amount of back hair? How do you live together and sleep in the same bed every night, but never get a glimpse of his bare chest?
TELL US – WHAT DO YOU THINK CHRIS HOPED TO ACCOMPLISH WITH PAIGE MEETING THE MOTHER OF HIS CHILD? IS ERIK REALLY OKAY WITH VIRGINIA HAVING MALE FRIENDS? ARE YOU SURPRISED CLARA AND RYAN HAVE BEEN TAKING THINGS SLOW? IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR HALEY AND JACOB?
