The long awaited premiere of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City finally dropped this week. It definitely did not disappoint. While I admit that all of the ladies were really interesting on their own, one in particular stood out.
Whitney Rose busted right out with a story of being unofficially excommunicated from the Mormon Church when she had an affair with her now-husband, Justin Rose. She made no secret about the fact that both were married at the time of their affair, hence their decision to leave the church. Luckily, Whitney is so happy she could care less. She was even happy enough to show her vow renewal on the very first episode of the show. Usually the kiss of death on housewives, the vow renewal itself was full of surprises.
One such surprise was a stripper pole, which Whitney excitedly took a spin on. But one of her castmates has plenty to say about her antics. Whitney joked to Entertainment Tonight, “You’re going to have to watch to see if the pole’s the only thing I like to swing around.” Apparently, rumors have been swirling and castmate Lisa Barlow has accused Whitney of being a swinger.
Whitney said, “I don’t want to spoil it or anything, but it’s probably not true. I can swing around many things, but my relationship is not one of them.” Ok, so did anyone else catch the “probably” part? What does she mean it’s “probably” not true? Wouldn’t you know? Set the record all the way straight, girl!

It sounds like Whitney is a little nonplussed with Lisa’s take on her marriage and Lisa’s role in the rumors. Whitney described Lisa as a “behind-the-scenes pot-stirrer”. Though Whitney admitted “she’s going to deny it.” Well, a housewives franchise can’t survive without a pot-stirrer so it’s nice to know we already have someone taking on that role.
Whitney concluded, “She loves to pull everyone off one on one and manage and be ‘the boss’ of everything, you know?” I can’t wait to see how this plays out on future episodes. Good thing we have a whole season still to come!
