Well, well… it seems our Bethenny Frankel has done made herself a talk show star! Rumors have been circulating that Bethenny’s show will be locked in for the Fox 2013 nationally syndicated fall line-up. Which would mean all y’all can tune in to the “R-rated Oprah,” a legend in her own mind.
However a rep for Fox told the Hollywood Reporter that fans shouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet! “A decision has not yet been made,” a Fox TV spokesperson announced on Friday. Execs are waiting until the full six-week test run completes before making a decision on the direction of Bethenny’s show longterm. But things are looking good for Bethenny. Very good.
Bethenny has had the most successful summer test run this year and is the most successful test since Wendy Williams in 2008. And Bethenny’s numbers are even higher than Wendy’s were back in the day.

Following three weeks of air time, Bethenny is beating Wendy’s test performance among women aged 25-54 by 43%!
“Across the six markets after three weeks, Bethenny had a 1.1 rating in households and 4 percent market share,” THR details. “In the women 18 to 54 demo, it posted a 1.0/10 — up 233 percent in terms of audience share over the same time period in June 2011 and up 43 percent over its lead-in show.”
Bethenny’s top markets are New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Minneapolis. She is faring less successful in the more conservative markets, Dallas and Phoenix.
Whoa… a lotta you like watching Bethenny take her dress off on national TV, I s’pose. Which is exactly why it looks like Bethenny will be securing a permanent spot next year.
“It’s logical given the performance of the show that they would pick up Bethenny for launch, probably in 2013,” says Bill Carroll, vp and director of programming for Katz Media. “It’s doing particularly well with younger female viewers.”
“She has proved she has the chops to be able to do a Monday-through-Friday show,” he continues. “Certainly, she’s a little bigger than life. She’s certainly not afraid of being edgy. She doesn’t shy away from the topics it appears that audience wants to talk about.”
Just think this time last year, it was widely suspected Bethenny’s talk show wouldn’t even make it to TV because she was too abrasive.
Perhaps this means Reality Tea will stop reporting on her as it seems like she will no longer be a reality TV star. Although I have serious doubts about that! I think Ol’ B Money will start filming a reality show about filming her talk show. You know it’s coming… Girl never misses an opportunity to talk about herself, pimp some product, and make some money!
