Well, well, what do we have here? Have we lost another Bravo show? This is the time of year Southern Charm is in production, yet word on the street is no one is filming. The Charleston show was knee-deep in the swamps last season. We had Austen Kroll thinking he was Lady Chatterley’s Lover. Then there was the STD scandal, courtesy of Austen’s then-girlfriend, Madison LeCroy. And of course, Kathryn Dennis did not disappoint in her continued struggle to navigate motherhood and sobriety.
So what gives? We haven’t heard any rumblings about the show being axed and there is seemingly no reason why cameras shouldn’t be rolling. Unless Bravo and Haymaker are too involved with active lawsuits brought on by former cast members. Is it possible we have seen the end of Craig Conover’s pillow making empire? Will viewers be left hanging on the threads of Shep Rose’s non-existent love life? In a new interview, Shep gives an update on the future of Southern Charm. If there is a future.
It’s a great show to binge-watch, but Southern Charm has taken quite a dark turn over the past several years. After dealing with Kathryn’s substance abuse and horrible relationship fallout with Thomas Ravenel, Thomas then added his unstable girlfriend to the pot. Cameran Eubanks is the only one in a family situation, though most of the time she seems unsatisfied in the role of a stay-at-home mom. Otherwise, the cast is generally getting drunk and making wild accusations at each other. Does this mean the show has lost it’s edge?
According to Celebrity Insider, Shep is commenting on the current status of a possible new Southern Charm season. Or lack of season… When appearing on the Ross Bolen Podcast, Shep admitted he hasn’t been given the go-ahead to announce their return. “I don’t know if we are doing another season. But we aren’t doing one now.” Hmmm, what would prevent a normal schedule? A pregnancy? Court cases? Nobody likes it anymore?

Don’t worry, Shep said he feels pretty sure they will be back. He said, “If I had a gun to my head, I’d say they want us to do another season. The ratings, I think, are pretty good.”
The lack of filming has gotten some viewers worried. One fan reached out to Patricia Altschul on Twitter to see if she had the scoop. The commenter wrote, “Alright @pataltschul, give it to us straight up….is Southern Charm returning next season? If it is, Michael, I’m ready for my medicine.” Unfortunately, Ms. Pat wasn’t giving up the goods that easily. She responded, “There would have to be an official announcement before any of the cast could comment.” Okay, if it is canceled, can we get a new show featuring Ms. Pat and Michael the Butler? Cameras following them around with their dog army going to Costco would be my jam. Can’t Whitney Sudler-Smith put that on his to-do list?

At this time, Bravo has made no official statement and filming has not started. Could this be the end of Southern Charm? Is production trying to refresh the show? Will we never see Michael make another martini?? Say it isn’t so!
