Gina Kirschenheiter is holding out hope for her friendship with Emily Simpson.
Last week, the Real Housewives of Orange County Star stopped by People to chat about the rocky turn her friendship with her fellow sophomore ‘Wife has taken this season.
While the pair may have made up in last week’s episode following their blow-out fight during the cast trip to Arizona, Gina admitted things aren’t back quite back to normal with her one-time BFF.
“We still have, I think, a little bit of a disconnection,” the RHOC star revealed during the interview. “I think it’s hard because we were OK…I was still a little overwhelmed in my life; I was missing, maybe, some of her text messages and stuff. And she deals with insecurities, I think, regarding our friendship.”

According to Gina, she blames the show for re-opening old wounds between her and RHOC‘s resident attorney as new episodes continue to air.
“So then, it was kinda like, she saw the episodes come out and sometimes we relive these things,” she continued. “You know, she said a couple things on social media I didn’t appreciate. She’s…reached out to me, we had lunch together, we think we’re good but then I’ll see something on social media.”

Trying to blame Emily for reacting to things she’s seeing for the first time on TV is a particularly rich excuse coming from the woman who openly cackled when Tamra Judge called her supposed best friend an “ogre” behind her back. From the moment Gina started getting the attention she so desperately craved all last season from Shannon Beador and Tammy Sue, she’s been more than ready to bail on her friendship with Emily and honestly, it’s not a good look.
Despite her loyalty shifting to the Tres Amigas, Gina predicted that her relationship with Emily will come out on the other side of Season 14.

“You know, it’s difficult but at the end of the day I do think that Emily and I have a lot of love for each other,” she continued, “and we have this, like, connection because we started [RHOC] together and we are friends, really are friends. And I think that, unfortunately, when you really have friends, sometimes you really have issues. I’m obviously just a person who, like, hangs on for a long time, so I think we just have different styles, you know? I think we’ll be OK. I really do, yeah.”
Hmm…that’s a nice thought, but it’s safe to say Gina might not be singing the same tune from the reunion couches once the season ends.
