Season 11 of Real Housewives of New York was all about the cabaret, I mean Luann de Lesseps. She got on every single cast member’s nerves (and a lot of the viewers’) and seemed to have no idea why. She just assumed it was “jealousy” because she is “such a big cabaret star” now. Please, girl.
She made everything about Luann and only Luann, with zero clue about how she came across. Even after watching the episodes, Luann still wondered if the other women were jealous of her. NO NO NO NO. Even, Sonja Morgan, who tries so hard to be neutral and see the good in Luann could not help being miffed by her diva antics.
In a recent interview with OK! Magazine, the interviewer remarked, “Fans went after Luann. They said she’s super self-absorbed. Why do you think she’s been like that?”
Sonja began, “Well, I know Luann very well. For a long time” pre-Housewives. Sonja theorized, “She’s just been very self-absorbed because she’s in protection mode. She’s protecting her sobriety.” Fair enough, but there were probably way nicer ways to do that.

Even so, Sonja admitted, “But basically, she ended up treating us like crap to do that. We were angry so we voiced that!” And, as usual, Luann did not seem to listen.
Sonja explained, “We are very close, our group.” She continued, “We can go there. We can tell her ‘You’re treating us terribly. We’re really upset.’ We vented and then at the reunion, you know, we hugged it out. Let’s see Season 12 where we go with it.” Probably to the same exact place. Luann will not take the time to think about how her behavior affects others. She will act the same way (or worse) and the cycle will continue. Zero lessons were actually learned at that reunion taping.

Sonja wondered, “Was it a real apology? Can she reel it in? Can she actually open her arms up and feel our pain too?” That’s doubtful, but let’s hope so.
Sonja said, “I think we’re all in a better place. Yeah, we grow from our mistakes. We look back at some of the things and just laugh. I think Luann laughed at a lot of her behavior and said ‘Wow, I didn’t think I was like that.'” But is she actually going to change her behavior?
