It looks like the rumors were true for once! It’s official: Denise Richards has joined the cast of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
She confirmed the news with People mag, “I am so excited to join the cast of [RHOBH] as I am a huge fan of the show.” She added, “I am looking forward to spending time with all the ladies… and hopefully meeting Boy George!!”
According the magazine, she will be joining current cast members Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave and Dorit Kemsley. So hopefully the rumors that she’d be replacing Rinna or Teddi aren’t true!
Denise has been wanting to sign on with the show for several seasons but the timing was never quite right.
Denise has had a pretty contentious roller coaster of a relationship with her ex-husband, Charlie Sheen. One minute he’d be skewering her in public and the next they’d be off vacationing with their girls. Hopefully he’s signed off on her participation or we can bet he’ll be venting about it in the press. Or maybe he’ll be making an appearance or two!
Denise shares two daughters, Sam, 14, and Lola, 13, with Charlie. She’s also mom to Eloise, 7. She also helped to take care of Charlie’s twin sons, Bob and Max, with his other ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, while she was battling addiction issues.
She was recently in the headlines because Charlie is trying to have his child support payments reduced, claiming he’s basically broke. So this is definitely a good time for Denise to bring in more income to take care of her family.
I’m going to guess she’ll fit in well since she has a lot in common with several cast members. Lisa Vanderpump will appreciate that Denise is also an avid animal rights advocate. Denise, Kyle, and Rinna are fellow TV actresses who can bond over raising teen daughters. And she and Kyle DO share a last name, too.
