While many of you have expressed a love/hate relationship with Teen Mom 2 (and I can’t say I blame you), I can say with great confidence that all who watched Tuesday’s episode were thrilled to see that Leah Messer and Corey Simms’ daughter Ali wasn’t suffering from brain abnormalities which could lead to mental incapacity. While developmentally she is behind her twin Aleeah, she is healthy and doing well. In a recent interview, Leah opens up to Life and Style about getting the good news.
Upon hearing the diagnosis the young mother remembers, “I was relieved. The worst thing I could’ve heard would be that there’s something wrong with Aliannah’s brain.” Leah reveals it was difficult to mask her fear in front of her twin daughters, stating, “It was pretty hard and emotional as a mom to know that something could be wrong with my child.” Of Ali, who is continuing with physical therapy, Leah exclaims, “She’s doing great!”
Coy with the magazine about her new love, Jeremy Calvert — the guy she met and moved in with in a matter of months — Leah reveals, “Jeremy and I do talk about getting engaged.” Do tell!
And tell she does! Of course, by “she” I mean her ex-husband Corey’s new girlfriend Summer Taverez who gives an exclusive interview to HollywoodLife.com in an effort to jump start her fifteen minutes because apparently her plan of just dating Corey for fame didn’t work.
Summer begins in June (sorry, couldn’t resist), “I think Corey would be very supportive of [Leah’s potential engagement]. He likes Jeremy a lot. Jeremy is a good guy.” Summer tells the site, “Him and Jeremy get along great. Actually especially just with me just hanging out with him, I was really surprised how they get along great.” I am the last one to talk smack about someone’s grammar (as you all know mine isn’t always well good!), but really?
“They co-parent very good. Corey gets the girls when he is supposed to and then Leah has them,” the paramour shares. Summer even discusses her first meeting with Corey’s ex-wife, recalling, “[Leah] was polite. She said ‘Hi.’ Jeremy and Corey talked a lot because they’re cool with each other. It wasn’t awkward or anything.” Teen Mom Swingers? MTV, are you paying attention?
Continuing her love fest for her — follow me — new boyfriend’s ex-wife’s maybe future fiance, Summer concludes that Jeremy is great because “the way he treats Leah and the girls is awesome.” Awe. Some. Summer, I think I hear a clock ticking… fourteen, thirteen, twelve…
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF SUMMER’S INTERVIEW? SHOULD SHE BE DISCUSSING LEAH’S BUSINESS? DO YOU BELIEVE THINGS BETWEEN THE COUPLES ARE AS CHUMMY AS SHE’S MAKING IT SOUND?
