This season of Real Housewives of Orange County may be basically over, but Meghan King Edmonds still has a lot to say – mostly about Vicki Gunvalson.
Meghan shared in her Bravo blog that she’s happy for viewers to see her and Jim they way they really are for once. “Part One of the reunion was pretty low-key, but now Part Two has started to dive into some more of the drama! Yikes! The best part about this week was that Jimmy joined me on the couch and I’m really glad the audience got to see a more relaxed and engaging side of my husband and our marriage. It’s kind of crazy to see us portrayed the way we actually are every day for the first time on TV!”
Meghan starts off by saying that Vicki is telling tall tales and tries to work her way out of them when cornered. “I’m just going to jump right in and say that I am STILL amazed with how much Vicki exaggerates her stories – so much that they become full blown lies! It’s so awkward to watch her get put on the spot and try to weasel her way out of her lies. When Vicki made the comment about our marriage, Andy asked both Jimmy and me if we wanted an apology out of her. We both said no, because her comments didn’t affect or hurt either of us. The only one who was hurt by her was Hayley. Surprisingly, Vicki agreed that she owes Hayley an apology (with Andy, the other Housewives, my husband, and the whole production team as my witnesses), but she hasn’t followed through with that apology yet…”
She explains what a tough time Hayley has been having since this summer and slams Vicki’s lack of empathy again. “Just imagine how Hayley’s life has been recently…June 1st we moved into our new house in Orange County, LeAnn died on July 22nd and I’ve been traveling back and forth with Jimmy since Hayley has graduated and started working, which leaves her alone in a brand new house a lot of the time. Now for Hayley to hear everything that Vicki has said at the reunion – implying that she is uneducated, saying that ‘no one knows what it’s like for your mother to die’ and then giving her stepmom and dad’s new marriage only 4 years to last – I can’t imagine how hard that would be for her, but she has told me it’s not easy.” Meghan continues, “Vicki has never even met Hayley which makes it even harder for Hayley – and the rest of us – to fathom why Vicki would want to hurt her by saying those things. If anything, I think that Vicki somewhat knows and can relate to what Hayley is going through with feeling the loss of a mother and how other life events become magnified because of that pain from a loss. I think because of that, I am mostly in shock and hurt for my stepdaughter, whom I love as if she was my own – God rest your soul, LeAnn.”
Meghan says her heart aches for Tamra Judge over the things Vicki said about her custody issues during the ‘sex party.’ “Not only am I upset with how Vicki has hurt Hayley, but my heart also aches for Tamra. I can’t imagine the pain she must have felt when she found out that her supposed good friend, Vicki, made such horrid comments regarding her custody and fitness as mother. (And this comes on the heels of Vicki saying, “That’s all Simon” when Tamra was discussing how Sidney has cut off contact with her!) Vicki said that her custody comment was said “in jest,” but I don’t think that the word “jest” can apply to that comment. I believe “caustic cynicism” would be a more appropriate description to explain the depth of its maliciousness intent – don’t you agree?”
She ends with, “This week was just a taste of what’s to come. You won’t want to miss Part Three next week!”
