It must be an off-year for Time Magazine because the infamous news magazine just voted Kim Kardashian and Kanye West among their 100 most influential people who have shaped the past year. Seriously!? Are they that desperate for readers?!
The upcoming edition, which hits stores tomorrow, features a profile from Martha Stewart describing why Kim and the Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars deserve to make the kut. “[Kim] and her famous, entrepreneurial siblings – shepherded by a savvy, tireless matriarch – have also expanded the very definition of family‘,” says Martha (I’m sure vomiting on those words).

Martha continues, “Despite the flamboyance, the self-aggrandizement and the self-promotion … Kim comes across as an enviable big sister in a clan where everyone seems to love one another.” Not quite sure Rob Kardashian or Brody Jenner would agree with that!
Time Editor Nancy Gibbs defends her PR stunt decision to put Kimye on the list by describing the entire list as comprised of an “anthem to interaction, the convergence that occurs when a good idea goes viral” of which the Kardashians and Kanye are a part of. “So when we were debating whom to approach to write for this issue, we looked for people who could speak to their subject’s influence in all its dimensions,” she added.
“Every year we hope the TIME 100 will introduce you to influential people you might not have met before and encourage you to find out more about them.” I think we already know WAY too much about Kimye, so point nullified Nancy, but nice try.
Kanye, sans Kim, will grace one of the the covers. Am I crazy for seriously wondering what makes Kanye so influential by today’s standards? And Kim? What her Selfish Selfie book is like changing the world in what way? Can we please honor people who have POSITIVE contributions to make to the world besides shoving their overly-developed ass ego in our faces? /RantOver.
And moving on, according to the Jewish Orthodox news website Kikar HaShabbat, Kim is considered a pornographic symbol! This is news? I thought it was just, you know, obvious.
Kim and Kanye recently met with the mayor of Jerusalem Nir Barkat and when photos of the lunch were published in Kikar HaShabbat, they censored Kim and showed only Kanye meeting with the mayor – in one shot they blurred Kim out and in another a “receipt” was used to cover her face in the photo! Even worse Kim is referred to only as “West’s wife” by the paper who panned the mayor for dining with them at a non-Kosher restaurant.
Editor Nissim Ben Haim, explains Kim was removed because she is considered a “pornographic symbol” who does not represent ultra-Orthodox values writes the Associated Press. You can see the photos of Kim being censored on their website. Seriously – can instagram enact the same policy? I’m tired of seeing her cleavage, crotch, and butt from all angles.
