Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans has entered into a rehab facility in Malibu.
A source close to Jenelle confirms the news to Us Weekly. “She is clean right now and has been that way for several weeks,” the insider states. “She’s doing this program to help her cope with all the stress in her life: her family situation, her legal issues, her general anxiety.”
Ok Magazine adds that she began a voluntary 45-day stay at the Malibu drug rehab treatment center on May 7.
Patrick Jay Williams, a friend of Jenelle’s from her hometown tells OK! Jenelle’s past drugs of choice include pot and ecstasy. “She tries to find relief by using pot and Ecstasy. When she takes Ecstasy she gets the feeling that everybody loves her. And in truth, on this island, a lot of people hate her and are jealous of her,” said Patrick.
This doesn’t come as a major surprise as the 19-year-old MTV star has had plenty of run-ins with the law in recent times. In mid-April, she pled guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia with prosecutors promising to drop the charges if she performs 24 hours of community service. She was also sentenced to 12 months of supervised probation.
Jenelle, mother to son Jace, nearly 2, was originally arrested back in October with her boyfriend, Kieffer Delp, when the two broke into an abandoned home in Oak Island, North Carolina, in order to smoke marijuana. Kieffer also has a past arrest for possession of cocaine.
And in March, she was arrested again for assault after TMZ posted a video of her attacking another girl. She was released shortly after on bond.
