Kris Jenner – matriarch of Keeping Up With the Kardashians — has never shied away from taking credit where credit is due. And according to new court documents, she played a major role in Kanye West’s epic proposal to her daughter Kim Kardashian.
As you recall on October 21 – which just happened to be Kim’s birthday – Kanye West rented out San Francisco’s AT&T Park. He brought a blindfolded Kim out onto the middle of the baseball field and in front of a 50-piece orchestra, proposed with a jaw-dropping 15 carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring in front of close family and friends, hiding in the dugouts.
Behind the scenes – and as it appeared on Keeping Up With the Kardashians – Kris Jenner was pivotal in getting all the invited party guests to San Francisco, under cover and without Kim finding out.

But when video of the party and parts of the proposal started popping up online, Kanye and the Kardashians found the perpetrator and filed suit.
According to court documents that were made public by Radar Online, YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley illegally leaked the video, after being told that pictures and videos of the event were strictly prohibited. No doubt Kris had already worked a deal to sell the rights, wanting the proposal to play out on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, because it would be a huge ratings boost.
In her declaration in Kim and Kanye’s lawsuit, Kris explained her part in the proposal by saying, “I played a major role in organizing and running the event. As part of this, I was directly involved in formulating and was familiar with the guest list.”
Making it even worse for Hurley? Kris claims he wasn’t even invited. She states that Chad Hurley “did show up with someone else who was an invited guest, bur Mr. Hurley was not invited by the organizers of the event. He was not even invited to attend; Kim and Kanye did not know him. We would not have been upset in the least if he had to leave — or never even attended in the first place — and he had not earned the trust of Kim, Kanye, or me.”
Things are not looking good for Chad Hurley, a hearing has been set for March 18.
