Be careful on the roads, people! Stop texting and driving! Slow down! Use your headlights! For goodness sake, pay some friggin' attention when you're behind the wheel! I shall step off my soapbox now and inform you that on Monday, the Shannon Thompson clan of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fame, was involved in a terrible car wreck. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, but it sounds like a scary ordeal!
First reported by TMZ, sources claim that Sugar Bear was driving the family's new Suburban while June, Pumpkin (Lauryn), Chubbs (Jessica), and Honey Boo Boo (Alana) were along for the ride as passengers. Apparently, Sugar Bear was trying to make a left hand turn on a green light when a truck (allegedly speeding and sans headlights) plowed into the family's vehicle.

After being transported to a local hospital, Pumpkin told the site that she'd been having panic attacks, Alana struck her head against the window, Sugar Bear had a back contusion, and Mama June was suffering from a neck sprain.
As for their new ride, Mama June lamented, "We've only had that Suburban for six months, and it's not even paid off yet." Fear not, June. You're so good with finances, I am sure you (or Allstate) has got you covered!
However, a damaged SUV isn't June's concern. The crew is thankful for the well wishes of their many fans and wants to focus on family. In a statement released to Us Weekly, June shares, “As many of you have heard we were in a car accident last night. It was really scary for us, since it was the first time any of us had ever been in a wreck."
June continues, "We are definitely really sore today, but our top priority is to celebrate Pumpkin’s birthday. She turned 14 today and no matter how sore we feel we are going to go out and celebrate. As always we want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes.”
I am relieved that no one was badly hurt, and I hope that Pumpkin was able to get over the frightening situation and enjoy her special day. While this family certainly draws as much criticism as praise, I am sure everyone is glad to hear that the family is doing alright after the accident.
