Dancing With The Stars Week 3 Recap! Kate Gosselin Melts Down, Evan Takes The Lead

Week 3 of Dancing With The Stars brought us some solid performances and great story telling.

Taking the lead this week for the first time this season is Olympic Ice Skater Evan Lysacek, who earned a score of 25 for his high energy quick step dance. Evan’s high score was all the more impressive considering he was dancing on two broken toes. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba called his dance “twinkling, athletic and energetic.”

Tying for second place were ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and PussyCat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. Both ladies received a 23 score for their dances. Erin vowed not to let the death threats get in the way of her dancing, and she had one of the most entertaining performances of the night when she did the waltz while blindfolded with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Carrie Ann called the dance “Breathtakingly artistic.”  Nicole also had a solid dance with partner Derek Hough, but the judges deducted points citing they broke two rules of the quick step.

The lowest score of the night once again went to 80 year old Buzz Aldrin, who was accused of just sort of walking through his dance. For the third week in a row, the second lowest score of the night went to Kate Gosselin, though her partner Tony Dovolani had predicted the “Paso Doble is going to be Kate’s best dance.” Kate received a poor 15 points for what Carrie Ann called an “odd” dance. It will be interesting to see if Kate will be saved once again when the results show airs tonight as 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

Kate was also shown having a small meltdown during one of her dance practices. The mom of eight just was shown crying for no reason in particular. However in a new interview with ABC, Kate reveals her reason for tearing up. “I had a little meltdown,” she said. “And I heard [my kids] upstairs. And I just started crying. And I was like, ‘I just miss my kids.'” Allrighty Kate.
