Below Deck Med Season 10: Why We Hope Max Salvador Is Filming After Being Spotted

Max Salvador is currently in Barcelona, filming for Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10. Unless this man has an identical yachtie-based twin, that is. After his potential spotting ran its course online, I got to thinking. I hope this potential sighting rings true, as Max brought so much to this series, and his story deserves a continuation arch on Bravo.

The Below Deck Med sighting of Max explained

Reddit user @Mxgrammatrain recently found themselves walking around a pier in Spain. Docked in one of the slips nearby was a superyacht. Onboard, they saw film crews and a few familiar faces. Naturally, their alarm bells began ringing, likely to the tune of the Below Deck Med theme song.

Like a true hero, this user then grabbed their phone (or camera) and snapped several images, which they uploaded online. As for their written statements, they penned, “Hey Below Deck fans and friends. I think I spotted the Below Deck Med production” boat “right here in Barcelona. Anyone else?”

Right away, avid fans of this series zoomed all the way, searching for clues and signs of life within each shared photo. On the deck, there stood two familiar faces. According to 99.9% of the readers, these returning yachties are none other than Max from Season 8 and Nathan Gallagher from BDM Season 9.

The comments passed the vibe check. Users began chiming in immediately, excited to see these two men onboard. “Nathan & Frenchie?!?! Yes!!!” Likewise, another user cheered, “Frenchie’s back?? We won!”

These two yachties have very different personalities, which users equally noted online. If our eyes are not deceiving us all, these differing dynamics will soon play out in the next season of Below Deck Med.

When Max first popped up on Below Deck Med Season 8, Episode 3, I immediately saw the real-life love child of Pepé Le Pew and Lazy Smurf. While his anti-hustle culture rocked a few of his leaders during his season, his kind-hearted personality eventually won everyone over. As long as this man got a nap each day and received 24 hours of sleep every night (this is only a slight exaggeration), he was all smiles and subtitles on deck. He also had zero fights with anyone, minus the few petty matters that arose after receiving only 23.9 hours of sleep.

Before we touch on his struggle-yacht first season, I want to recall his best moments. Cue his boner-related Eiffel Tower meter. On national television, this zero-f*cks-given Frenchman admitted that he typically wakes up with a salute from his southern sausage. With each interaction, his self-proclaimed Eiffel Tower would hit another number, making me laugh for days.

Max also gave off production plant vibes, and I mean this in the best way possible. No, he was not a plant, but this man was all over the map. His French accent was thick and often felt exaggerated, with added-in notes of Polish, English, and a late-night keg-filled frat house. He was entertaining AF.

My favorite scene involved Max waltzing onto the deck almost an hour late for his shift. While most of us would feel stressed, Max was not. Instead, he entered the scene humming a bop, talking about his sleepy, non-lying hips.

Max is a comedic, non-toxic wild card. Due to this, I hope this BDM Season 10 sighting is him. “Sacre Bleu!”

If there is anything Captain Sandy Yawn loathes, it is someone who lacks a passion for their position. She saw this weak link emerging in Max during Episode 13, so she pulled him in for a heated discussion on her waterproof watch. CliffsNotes, their fight was about food. Max was hungry and did not like what Chef Jack Luby made, so he complained within earshot of his captain, and his chosen words made it seem like Jack had prepared nothing for his crew.

When Captain Sandy learned this was not the case, she pulled Max into her wheelhouse, chastising him for his inaccurate statements. She then asked him to apologize.

Wildly, Max refused to say sorry to his boss. Instead, he walked away, and she followed. She shockingly then gave him another chance. In another episode, Max contemplated quitting, but Captain Sandy steered Max in a different direction.

She must have seen something special in Max. They finally started finding their groove shortly after, at the tail end of Season 8. Their story now needs another season.

I also want to hear more about how Max is doing. When Season 8 wrapped, his mental health took a hit. Therefore, he spent some time in Bali, healing with the help of hypnotherapy. Max also found healing (and his abs) in the gym.

His socials are now the perfect mix of downtime, exercise, and yachting. But if we want to learn more about how he is doing these days, we need him to return for Below Deck Med Season 10.
