Shannon Beador’s fall from grace has been particularly hard to watch on Real Housewives of Orange County. The Real for Real founder started as one of the richest housewives on the franchise, complete with an organic mansion. But after her divorce from David Beador, she started to hit rock bottom.
The mother of three began having an extra cocktail or two and spiraling emotionally out of control. A lot. Before fans knew it, she was dating John Janssen, and burning bridges left and right. Even with all this being said, Shannon has gotten very little support in the way of her friends. Instead of rallying around her, the cast has been flippant about her heartache and vocal about her possible drinking issues. Shannon definitely needs some help.
Bravo airs Shannon Beador’s breakdown
In the trailer, Shannon is seen hyperventilating while on a cast trip. She shared with ET that her almost breakdown was caused by all of John’s legal issues against her, including suing her for a $75,000 facelift. Shannon told the outlet, “Oh, it’s beyond. For the first time in my life, I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown. I was told things. I was talking to my attorney off to the side, and I was told things with the girls that I couldn’t believe.”
The Real Housewives of Orange County has only just started, but fans are already noticing how shaky Shannon has been. She has excused herself from multiple gatherings after being accused of having a drinking problem. She has also kept her distance from Alexis Bellino, who can’t stop talking about John’s masterful wand. Shannon also shared, “More happens and I want to make it clear that I do not want to be portrayed as a victim. I am not. If anything, I have proven to myself that, in the last year, I am a survivor. I am not a victim.” But, she’s acting like a victim.
Shannon Beador needs to take life a bit more seriously
Shannon has always been one of those Real Housewives who is delusionally enjoyable to watch. I mean, who honestly puts crystals in their foundation? Shannon has a habit of never thinking that she does anything wrong, and she always comes across as the victim. At first, I loved how Shannon held onto every grudge and refused to move forward. But now I believe she is doing herself a disservice. At some point, Shannon should be taking the wheel. Or… getting some therapy?
Shannon has made no progress in changing her life whilst on the show. While she spends thousands on fixing her outward appearance, she hasn’t looked inward except for her weekly acupuncture appointments. Shannon hasn’t taken serious accountability for her DUI. Yes, fans watched her cry to her lawyer and be remorseful, but she is doing community service at her church. She dared to blame John for egging her on. But in the end, Shannon is the one who sits behind the wheel, drives drunk, and pretends to walk Archie. She needs to be way more serious about her issues when it comes to her personal and professional life.
Shannon Beador needs to lay off on John Janssen
I understand being upset over the loss of a long-term relationship. But at some point, Shannon has to move on. She has bashed John often. In this humble writer’s opinion, it might be helpful if the mother of three just stopped picking on John every chance she gets. The constant bad-mouthing and eluding to the fact that she has dirt on her ex just isn’t helpful.
If Shannon can embrace her breakup and take control of her life, I think the cast will show her more empathy. But her costars should also be a bit more understanding when it comes to Shannon’s current predicament. She has three daughters in college, rents, a new company, and she is doing it all by herself.
