The only thing worse than being the first person eliminated from a reality show is being the second person eliminated from a reality show. Unfortunately for Kacie B. Mize (AKA Shark), she wound up being the second casualty on USA Network’s The Anonymous.
Kacie’s time on the show got cut short after receiving one nomination for elimination. Although there were several others on the chopping block and the odds were in her favor, Jack Usher gained the power of the Anonymous and kicked Kacie out of the competition.
Watching Kacie’s elimination felt random. She didn’t do anything to make any enemies in the house, and her elimination caught everyone off guard. However, Kacie told Reality Tea that she wasn’t too surprised to get the chop. The real surprise came when she found out who decided to take her out of the game.
No regrets, just vibes on The Anonymous
Everyone on The Anonymous came into the game with a strategy. Nina Twine is trying to go undetected as the daughter of a Survivor legend. Robbi Jade Lew doesn’t want anyone to know she’s a poker player. There are a lot of secrets at play. For Kacie, she assured us that she “did have a strategy” for the game, she just got kicked out too early for us to see much of it in action. She isn’t sour about it though.
“I do not have any regrets. I don’t think I could have done anything differently and gotten further. Especially knowing that Jack eliminated me. If a friend would do it, so would anyone else,” Kacie explained.
Kacie’s elimination sent a wave of confusion throughout the game. How could someone with the least amount of nominations wind up getting eliminated? According to Kacie, it wasn’t quite as shocking for her as it was for the rest of us watching.
“I wasn’t entirely surprised to be the one going home. Just before the vote, a conversation got twisted in a way that made me suspect I might be the target,” Kacie recalled.
She continued, “There were other factors at play as well. I had a really hard personal day. I think I should have been more forthcoming with the cast about that. Maybe that would have pulled me some points.”
Kacie’s reaction to Jack sending her home
On this show, winning the power of the Anonymous means you get to kick people out of the game with zero in-game repercussions. On the flip side, the anonymity also means that the eliminated contestants have no idea who sent them home.
Although Kacie said she had the gut feeling she might be the target, she had no clue that Jack was the one who pulled the trigger. That felt like a stab in the back.
“I was genuinely surprised to find out it was Jack who sent me home, especially since I thought we had made a small connection earlier that day,” Kacie recalled.
She added, “On the bright side, I was relieved it was a friend rather than someone that I didn’t really connect with. It’s always better to be sent home by someone you like.”
The Anonymous continues with new episodes on USA Network every Monday at 11/10c.
