Stassi Schroeder got the axe from Vanderpump Rules in 2020. Since her firing, Stassi has worked on bettering herself, knowing that her former racially insensitive showings sucked. Stassi then moved on from reality television, choosing to focus on her expanding family, her books, and her podcast, complete with built-in tour dates. But life without the lens hits differently, so now, Stassi has accepted a role in Season 2 of Vanderpump Villa. This move is genius on her end for several reasons.
Stassi Schroeder gets to reintroduce herself on a new platform via Vanderpump Villa
If you watch Bravo, then you know who Stassi is. She rocked the boat from her very first showings on VPR Season 1. Stassi was scared of no one. She called people out left and right, unwilling to accept anyone’s bullshit.
When a spinoff emerged several years after her firing, many people hoped to see Stassi’s name attached. But alas, The Valley brought back everyone but Stassi. Instead of Stassi’s hysterical one-liners, we got an unchanged Jax Taylor and a spiraling Brittany Cartwright. We also got an activated (no hate, never change) Kristen Doute.
As for Stassi, she chose not to entertain this new series. Her life was going well, so she didn’t want to allow something toxic back into her headspace. Also, none of these stars are her real-life friends. While her presence would have excited many Bravo fans, her storylines would have felt forced, and Stassi does not do fake.
Try as Bravo might, Stassi refused their invitations. But here comes Hulu with a cure. No longer forced to film alongside any of her former toxic co-stars as their fake BFF, Stassi’s time spent filming in a lesser role on Vanderpump Villa will feel organic and fresh. Hulu, you’re the (wo)man for bringing Stassi over to your platform, where she can create a new name for herself as a (hopefully) mature adult.
Stassi Schroeder can now transition into a hysterical supporting character on Vanderpump Villa
If a reality television star wants to keep their job, their storylines have to deliver. As a former full-time star on Bravo, Stassi nailed this. She pitched fits and called out sh*tty behaviors without flinching (lawd what she could have done for Scandoval). She was also a self-proclaimed dark passenger, raging on her loved ones when things were amiss.
Stassi also delivered many oh-no-she-didn’t moments. She slapped Kristen, turned into a monster during every one of her filmed birthdays, and made nothing about Scheana Shay, which, how rude.
After many seasons of this, it felt like Stassi’s head had grown one size too large. She knew she was a lead, and she knew people either loved to love her or lived to hate her. Almost as if she began feeling invincible, Stassi made a Nazi nod on one of her outfit of the day posts. She also wrongly called the cops on her Black cast mate, Faith Stowers, which, ew.
It was horrific, and Stassi got kicked to the curb. I don’t ever want to see this Stassi again. And thankfully, when she pops back up on Vanderpump Villa, I will likely get my wish.
Stassi’s new role is still publically undefined. She could be a guest or a cast member. Either way, her new role will not be as drama-heavy as before.
If she is a cast member, she has to work hard at the Vila, which leaves little time for drama and all the room for her exhausted candor. She could also be a guest, only appearing briefly. If so, her witty one-liners are probably all we will see.
Whichever is the case, Stassi can now transition from a drama-heavy star to a hysterical supporting character on Vanderpump Villa. That’s a genius move, my friends.
Stassi will score new fans on Hulu
Stassi understands the reality television assignment. When it came time to announce her return to Lisa Vanderpump’s side, Stassi and Lisa took to their socials, sharing their exciting announcement with the masses. But both also left their posts coy. Again, neither clarified how large or small Stassi’s new role in Vanderpump Villa Season 2 will be.
This strategic move was genius, as look what we are all doing now. We’re online, speculating about what Stassi’s return to filming might entail. I have also seen chatter about viewers picking up subscriptions for Hulu simply because of Stassi’s confirmed presence next season. Congratulations, Hulu, as you’re about to get an entire generation of new users, and we love this for you.
In Stassi’s post, comments also began sounding off from the viewers. Many tried to get into Season 1 of Vanderpump Villa, but for unspecified reasons, this series failed to hold their attention spans, and off went their screens. Now that Stassi is slinking on, they plan on giving this series a second chance, which creates another win for both Stassi and Hulu.
No matter how Stassi returns, her casting on Vanderpump Villa was a genius move. Many of us will now be tuning in for the premiere episode of Vanderpump Villa Season 2, with plates piled high with goat cheese balls.
