On August 19, Bravo dropped the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 5 trailer, teasing that “Last season’s drama was just the tip of the iceberg.” The RHOSLC Season 5 trailer opened with exterior shots of each of the stars’ homes. Viewers heard each of their voices as they accused each other of lying, secretly recording, and reaching out to “our sworn enemy.”
From there, the trailer transitioned to some party antics, with swimming, hiking, and a racecar track. After that, Lisa Barlow introduced her friend and new Housewife, Bronwyn Newport, and her “over-the-top fashion and a sense of humor,” as per a press release from Bravo. However, Bravo also teased her “confrontational style,” immediately raising Heather Gay’s suspicions.
As the trailer reached its climax, viewers saw Mary Cosby and Meredith Marks quarreling, with Mary demanding Meredith leave her house. The trailer ended as it began, with accusations of lying and speculation on recording devices. But wait! There’s more!
RHOSLC Season 5 trailer promises plenty of drama
Bronwyn won’t be the only new face showing up this season. Two new friends will join the cast as well – Britani Bateman and Meili Workman. Bravo described Britani as “a real estate developer, actress and accoladed singer in an on-again, off-again relationship.” She’s also a “Utah native and practicing Mormon.”
Meili, on the other hand, is a California native who “was raised LDS and moved to Utah to be more involved in the church, but ultimately decided that the faith was not for her.” The new friend of the cast keeps herself busy with her four kids and loving husband. As for other returning cast members not yet mentioned, fear not. Angie Katsanevas and Whitney Rose will return for Season 5 as well.
Fans no doubt recall Season 4’s shocking ending. Monica Garcia’s betrayal and the fourth wall break seem to have the cast on high alert, especially Heather. Monica claimed production wanted her back for Season 5 but some of the other cast members threatened to quit, allegedly. Nevertheless, Season 4’s conclusion will no doubt have ripple effects.
