MDLLA Season 15, Episode 7 Preview: The Altman Brothers Fight for a Deal

It’s that time of the week again, as we’ve got our hands on the sneak peek preview for MDLLA Season 15, Episode 7.

Even the Altman brothers do a little door knocking from time to time. Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles star Matt Altman just happened to be driving by a ginormous home in Encino, and ended up speaking with the owner and developer, Shawn. There was already a listing agent involved, however, no paperwork was signed. So Matt and Josh Altman went the next day to convince Shawn they were the right duo for the property. 

Josh was shocked at the size of the 20,000 square foot home with a giant glass front entrance. He said, “That’s a house? It looks like a temple.” Or an entrance to a mall. Shawn let the two in to give them a tour. He also reminded Josh and Matt that he already had a listing agent. But did that agent have a TV show?

Josh noted the house was fair game until the listing agreement was signed. He said, “We want to knock out the competition before there is a competition. I love to break records.” Would Shawn give the Altman brothers the green light to sell his property?

Not only did the outside of the home look like a giant mall, but the inside did as well. The kitchen had two of everything: two ovens, two refrigerators, and two islands. Josh said because this home was located in Encino, “You get more bang for your buck.” However, this home would be anything but cheap.

The primary bedroom was 4,000 square feet, “fit for a king.” It also had two primary bathrooms, and two studio apartment-sized closets. Matt said, ”This is the craziest closet I’ve seen in my entire career.” Josh predicted it would take one million dollars worth of clothes to fill one of them. Which seems cheap to be honest. 

So how much would this bang for your buck home cost? Shawn wanted to list at the low price of $25 million. Josh said that would be a record-breaking sale in Encino. He added, “That turns me on, I’m not going to lie.” Shawn let them know they had 22 days until the home was staged to get a buyer. Once the furniture was up, he would be signed with the other agent. Still, was this ethical for Josh and Matt to do?

Tracy Tutor and Josh Flagg weighed in. Tracy noted that if the agent didn’t get a listing agreement signed, it was fair game for anyone to “sell it out from under you.” Flagg added, “This is how Altman has done business in the past. It’s not shocking to me.” Josh said their motto is “Ready, fire, aim.”

If there’s an opportunity, they’re going to take it. That left the Altman brothers three weeks to sell the house. And they recently sold their Trousdale listing in under 30 days. All they had to do was ready, fire, aim.
