Bachelorette Suitor James McCoy Taylor Accused of ‘Restricting’ and ‘Shoving’ 19-Year-Old Woman

Disturbing details have emerged about Bachelorette alum James McCoy Taylor. When we first met him, he was competing for JoJo Fletcher’s heart. Earlier this month, the 38-year-old was arrested due to an outstanding warrant. Now that we’ve learned the details of the warrant, it’s safe to say that we never need to see this dude on TV ever again.

The shocking claims against James McCoy Taylor

According to court documents reviewed by People, James’ arrest stemmed from an incident with a 19-year-old girl. The fact that he was hanging out with a girl twenty years younger than him is pretty gross in itself. However, sometime during their hangout, she claimed James attacked her.

A probable cause statement explained that James and the unidentified teenager were at his condo “making out” when things got weird. The girl said he got aggressive, so she went into his bathroom and called an Uber. She was ready to leave, and the Bachelorette alum didn’t like that. He reportedly got upset with her before tackling her to the ground and groping her vagina.

The warrant alleged, “[James] intentionally or knowingly by force, intimidation or deception, restrain[ed] [a woman] without her consent by restricting the moments of the said [woman], by shoving her to the ground, getting on top of her and using his body weight to prevent her from getting off the ground.”

The cops issued their warrant on April 24 based on probable cause. They had pictures of the victim’s injuries and text messages she sent to her family and friends in the immediate aftermath.

Clearly, it took a few months for the cops to catch up to him, but once they did, they sent him straight to jail. They officially charged him with assault causing bodily injury and unlawful restraint. He got released on an $8,000 cash bond the same day.

Of course, James is claiming that he’s innocent and didn’t attack this teenage girl. He did admit to hanging out with her but claimed their time together was always “consensual” and never aggressive.

James said in a statement, “I’m a pretty big guy but I was trying to ‘unlawfully restraining[sic]’ a girl and she just … got away?… and walked right to her Uber right outside my house? With NO injuries?”

He continued, “I would never hurt anybody. I’m nice to EVERY person I meet.”
