Teresa Giudice Defends Luis Ruelas After He Wished Suffering on Margaret Josephs’ Son

When Luis Ruelas said he wanted to see Margaret Josephs and her son “suffer,” it gave most of us the heebie jeebies. Unfortunately, Teresa Guidice didn’t have the same reaction. During The Real Housewives of New Jersey Off the Rails wrap-up special, she wound up defending her husband’s gross comment. Is anyone surprised?

A cycle of suffering

The RHONJ ladies couldn’t have an actual reunion this year because the hatred for each other was too palpable. Instead, they gathered at Rails and watched the Season 14 finale in two different groups. When Luis made his comment about Marge and her family suffering, the reaction in the two rooms couldn’t be more different.

Over in Teresa’s room, Dolores Catania tried to explain why Luis would “get sh-t” for wishing suffering on Marge. Side note: where was this energy during the last supper, Dolores? At this point, it’s a little too late. Tre told her that she “didn’t care” about the backlash Luis might get from his comment.

“Listen, my kids suffered,” Teresa argued. “My stepson suffered. My daughters suffered.”

Those excuses clearly weren’t landing with Dolores. There’s no justifying wishing suffering on someone, and it’s that type of toxicity that ruined this season in the first place. However, Teresa told her co-stars to “drop it,” so they did. They fell in line and didn’t talk about it any further.

Teresa added, “He was upset. People make mistakes. I know he did not mean to say that. I’ll make sure he says sorry.”

Fortunately, Teresa stuck to her word on that one. After the finale aired, Luis issued an apology via Instagram Stories. He said he regretted bringing up Marge’s son, but after seeing Teresa’s reaction, all of those words now seem a little hollow.

The future of the Real Housewives of New Jersey is still to be determined, but you can stream all 14 seasons on Peacock.
