It’s no secret that being on Real Housewives is not an easy gig. And as much as fans speculate about how real the shows are, even the most seasoned professionals struggle.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is a franchise that has seen many actresses jump into the role of a housewife, no pun intended. There are too many past housewives to name but of the current RHOBH cast, Kyle Richards and Garcelle Beauvais both boast an extensive IMDB.
Now actress Jennifer Tilly, who will appear as a “friend of” in the upcoming season, is revealing just how tough it is to be on the show.
“It’s so intensive”
The Oscar-nominated actress, who was brought onto the show thanks to close friend Sutton Stracke, recently spoke with PEOPLE. “I’m so happy I get to spend more time with Sutton because in the last few years, since she’s been on Housewives, now I understand it’s so intensive and I didn’t get to see as much of her as I like.”
Jennifer went on to add that RHOBH is “way harder than acting” but that Sutton has shown her “the ropes.”
“She’s great because she’s kind of showing me the ropes because it’s a little intimidating,” Jennifer said of Sutton. “She’s a stellar Housewife. [She’s] very forthright, like, ‘You need to do this or you need to do that.’ ”
Sutton, who was also part of the interview added, “No, it’s funny because I did Jennifer’s series Chucky. I never had done anything like that in my life, so that was new for me. Seeing [her] come on with us, I’m like, ‘No, no, no, we don’t cut. We don’t say action because it’s not scripted — you actually just talk.’ ”
Which is something that the longtime TV and movie actress admitted is harder than making films. “It’s way harder than acting. You’re actually just kind of making it up as you go along,” Jennifer asserted. Sutton chimed in, “You’re real. We’re being real.”
