When Joe Gorga threw a guys’ night during Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14, he faced some competition. Across town, Luis Ruelas was also hosting some of this cast’s meatballs over at his pad. Paulie Connell and Bill Aydin chose to attend Luis’ event, which saw Joe tossing out the term “scumbags” in turn. On this, Dolores Catania is clocking in for her man, in a kind way, to say that these guys “never had a problem.”
Dolores responds to Joe’s vocabulary on WWHL
If there is one thing we all know to be true about Dolores, she will always speak her mind. She will also typically do so with respect for the other party involved. Appearing on Watch What Happens Live immediately after the RHONJ Season 14 Finale aired, a caller rang in with a specific hotline question for Dolo. In answering, Dolores was blunt, but she ended things kindly because she and Paulie still care about Joe.
“Dolores. How did you feel when Joe Gorga said last week that scumbags hang out with scumbags, referring to Paulie hanging out with Luis,” the caller asked. “That wasn’t nice. It really wasn’t” Dolores answered.
She then asked, “But are we really going to pick apart every single thing? I know Luis, Bill, and Paul are not scumbags. I mean, that could go both ways also, so let’s just keep it there,” she ends, smiling. In the studio audience, Paulie is also smiling, because these two could care less about Joe’s brash, heat-of-the-moment comment, which I love.
Thankfully, Danny Pellegrino jumped in at this point, asking the question that had already begun forming in my brain. “How are Paulie and Joe now?” he inquires. “They’re good. They’ve never had a problem,” Dolores explains.
Back in the audience, Paulie speaks, agreeing with his leading lady. “Joey’s great,” he states. Well, that’s nice. After such a devastatingly toxic season, it’s nice to see that a few of these friendships will remain mostly intact.
A special Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 wrap-up airs next Sunday, August 11, at 8/7c on Bravo.
