Sure, Jill Zarin hasn’t been on Real Housewives of New York for several seasons now, but she’ll forever be an iconic OG of the show. The early days of the series would not have been the same without Jill. She was central to the drama, especially when it came to her dynamic with Bethenny Frankel. Truly, Jill will always deserve praise for what she gave to the show’s early days.
Jill’s storyline on RHONY also involved her being the wife of a businessman. Bobby Zarin was the proud owner of Zarin Fabrics for years. In recent news, it sounds like Zarin Fabrics was at risk of being destroyed by fire if it wasn’t for some quick action from employees and firefighters that saved the New York City institution.
It’s worth noting that Jill was only ever personally involved with Zarin Fabrics for a short period of time, almost two decades ago. The business was founded by Harry Zarin in 1936, before Bobby worked his whole adult life in the business. Bobby’s son, David Zarin, took over after joining the family business permanently in 2007.
Zarin Fabrics expresses gratitude
A post on the Zarin Fabrics Instagram reveals that the store was saved by firefighters after a fire broke out in the building’s cellar. “Thank you to our employee, Carlos who acted quickly when he smelled smoke and called 911. Thank you @fdny for your quick action,” the caption states.
Despite being saved from total destruction, Zarin Fabrics did suffer some damage from the fire. The store’s drapery and hardware departments are closed until further notice due to the incident.
“The fabrics on the second floor were saved from smoke and water damage and our fabric warehouse will open as usual on Sunday, August 4th,” the caption continued. We’re glad to hear that everyone was safe after the fire. Plus, it’s great to hear that Zarin Fabrics will continue its long legacy in New York City.
