Tom Sandoval recently dropped his oncoming lawsuit against Ariana Madix, but that didn’t stop Katie Maloney from slamming the move. For those who weren’t aware, Tom recently filed a suit against Ariana for allegedly violating his privacy with the Scandoval video.
Vanderpump Rules fans universally panned Tom’s decision. He deactivated his Instagram when the announcement first became public. Eventually, Tom reversed the lawsuit. He explained via Instagram that he took up the lawsuit on the advice of his lawyer.
He claimed to drop the lawsuit completely while also firing his attorney. Still, the damage was done. Despite his best efforts, he couldn’t stop impending criticism from nearly all sides. Especially from Ariana’s best friend.
Katie doubts Tom’s ignorance over lawsuit
On the Disrespectfully podcast, Katie somewhat doubted Tom’s claims of naivety. She asked why he would’ve preemptively deactivated Instagram if he didn’t understand what he was doing. “[Tom] probably should’ve not done it to begin with and been like, ‘Yeah, well if you’re telling me I need to deactivate my account, like maybe we just don’t do this in general.’”
Or, as Katie put it, the suggestion to deactivate should’ve tipped Tom off to the severity of the legal action. “Like, that would’ve been a good indication [that this is] probably gonna be pretty damaging [and] the language of whatever is gonna be put out there isn’t gonna be a good look.” As such, Katie asserted, “I think [he] did know the gravity of what was going to happen.”
She called the whole situation “disgusting and shameful.” However, as she thought it over a bit more, she could believe that Tom was “ill advised” by his lawyer. She reasoned that Tom “probably didn’t understand the full weight of what it was going to be.” But in any case, Katie and her cohost agreed that Tom was a “loser.”
Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock.
