Bethenny Frankel always seemed just as confident in her role as a mother as with her numerous entrepreneurial projects. The Real Housewives of New York alum is a proud mother to 14-year-old daughter Bryn Hoppy and has helped her navigate a healthy relationship with the fame she created as a reality TV star.
Bethenny often shares family pictures on social media and gives regular updates on her teenage daughter. Recently, the RHONY alum spoke about Bryn’s friend group and whether the teenager is dating yet.
Bethenny never asked “for advice on parenting”
Bethenny exclusively revealed to Us Weekly that she hasn’t set up dating rules for her daughter, simply because Bryn isn’t interested in boys right now.
“I like that she’s not boy-crazy or desperate. But she sees that in me. I’m perfectly happy being alone – I’m an only child, and so is she – and that’s an important thing to learn. She’s doing great, honestly. She’s a good kid,” Bethenny revealed.
Mothering always came “naturally” to Bethenny, who shared the challenges of her childhood while on RHONY.
“We can say I’m breaking the chain and it’s because of the [upbringing] I had, but I don’t ask for advice on parenting,” she explained. “I had my daughter, clicked in, connected, and felt like I knew where I was supposed to be. I’m confident and secure in it, the way that I am in business.”
The entrepreneur is still one of her teenage daughter’s favorite people, and the duo spends a lot of time together.
Bethenny said, “We spend a lot of time together: We [go on] amazing trips, go to great dinners and get dressed cute. It’s good because when she’s with her friends, then I get [me] time. It’s a nice balance.”
As for Bryn’s current interests, Bethenny revealed that her daughter is “way more social” than she is and “lives for her friends and her social life.”
“She’s artistic and creative. She does [beauty] reviews [on social media], but she doesn’t want my help which is really nice,” she added.
Just like her mother, Bryn is looking to build a brand. And she’s using her charisma and creativity to do it.
“She has her own following, and people engage,” Bethenny said. “She knows she’s building a small community, and she’s expressing herself creatively. She’s got a good balance with that too.”
