She’s not going down without a fight! Former Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay is hitting back at Bryan Abasolo for his spousal support request. It’s not that she doesn’t want to help support her former husband, she just doesn’t want to give him the hefty amount of cash he’s demanding.
According to the divorce papers, the Bachelor Nation duo called it quits on December 31, 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split. There wasn’t a prenup, so the two have been navigating all of the legal work to try to make their split official.
Rachel draws a line
Once Bryan hit Rachel with a major request for spousal support, she hired a bigwig celebrity divorce lawyer to help take him to task. Now, in a recent court filing reviewed by TMZ, Rachel and her legal team have made their terms extra clear. Bryan should only get a maximum of $9,882 a month in spousal support.
Obviously, that’s a big chunk of change for most people, but it’s a drop in the bucket for Rachel. According to court docs, she’s pulling in $61,019 each month. Meanwhile, Bryan claimed that he only made around $1,600 per month through his work as a chiropractor.
Allegedly, Rachel didn’t believe Bryan’s claims that he was making that much money. She argued that he has more money coming in one way or another. After all, he drives a Porsche that’s worth $50,000.
Adding even more drama to the money issues, Rachel claimed that Bryan stopped paying his share of the household expenses amid the divorce. It’s messy from every angle, and it’s all starting to make sense why Rachel had to hire such a top-tier divorce lawyer. This guy is making things difficult.
