Dancing with the Stars fans are already excited for Season 33. Last season, actress Xochitl Gomez was paired with Val Chmerkovskiy. The duo took home The Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
Singer Jason Mraz nabbed second place with his partner, Daniella Karagach. And Ariana Madix, who stars on Vanderpump Rules, and her partner, Pasha Pashkov, came in third.
Now the guessing game is afoot about who might be competing next season. Let’s take a look at all the DWTS Season 33 cast rumors and celebrity predictions.
When will Dancing with the Stars Season 33 air?
DWTS announced that it will be returning for Season 33 this fall. The news was announced in a May Instagram post. No competitors or pro dancers have been announced. Typically, that happens closer to the time of the premiere, usually in September.
Judges Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Derek Hough will all be waving their judging paddles this season. Hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough are also expected to return.
DWTS Season 33 cast rumors: Which reality stars could appear on the show?
So, who might we see in the ballroom? According to The Daily Mail, a source close to DWTS dropped some details about casting. “Dancing with the Stars always overbooks talent and will go to the very last minute to sign someone up,” the insider claimed.
“Producers are constantly talking to stars throughout the year to work with their schedules. Everyone who has been in the news, or will be in the news, are always asked,” the source added.
Meanwhile, TV Insider reported that Survivor alum Parvati Shallow, fresh off Season 2 of The Traitors, could be a likely candidate. She is very competitive, and would surely be fierce in the ballroom. Parvati also dropped some hints that she was interested in appearing on DWTS. She would be an excellent addition to the cast.
There are also rumors that the original Golden Bachelor, Gerry Turner, might trip the light fantastic on the show. He may have some competition from Season 28 The Bachelor star Joey Graziadei.
Then we have Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Sutton Stracke. I think that Sutton would do well in the ballroom dances.
This woman went to a Magic Mike show with a stack of dollars but left because of the raunchy performance. But she does have dance experience, so casting her would be a smart move.
Meanwhile, The Daily Mail named the first Golden Bachelorette, Joan Vassos, as a possible cast member. Although the school administrator departed Gerry’s season to look after her daughter, the mom of four and grandmother would be a compelling choice. Just please, ABC – let’s not add too many dancers from the Bachelor-verse.
Which other celebrities might hit the ballroom?
According to The Daily Mail, actor and writer Richard Gadd from Baby Reindeer and co-star Jessica Gunning are also being eyed for DWTS.
Reportedly, two exes of Jennifer Lopez may also be in the mix. Her ex-husband, Cris Judd, and ex-boyfriend, Casper Smart, were both dancers. With all the hoopla about JLo’s marriage to actor and director Ben Affleck allegedly tanking, it is easy to see why Casper and Cris are on the show’s radar.
But TV Insider has some other interesting suggestions. On the celebrity sports side, superstar basketball star Caitlin Clark’s name has been mentioned. She won’t be in training for the Olympics. So, does she have an open slot on her dance card?
Then we have retired NFL star Jason Kelce. People reported that DWTS pro Jenna Johnson has already spoken to the universe about being paired with Jason. “He just retired. I think it’s the perfect thing,” Jenna stated. “If his wife wants to do it with Val, we could definitely do that.”
She added that football players “are not afraid to work hard.” It also looks like Jason loves to have fun, so I fully support this idea.
There were also whispers that former Good Morning America stars TJ Holmes and Amy Robach could be in the running. The duo was fired from the show because of their affair. Still, it seems like a strange casting move.
Will David and Victoria Beckham waltz into the ballroom?
In an interesting twist, Derek shouted out David Beckham and his wife, Victoria Beckham. He posted a video of the couple dancing on his Instagram. “Are @davidbeckham and @victoriabeckham getting ready for @dancingwiththestars? How about a couples salsa night you two ??” he captioned the photo.
I’ll tell you what I want, what I really want … to see this duo shake their groove things on DWTS. Other former Spice Girls have competed, including Melanie C. (Sporty Spice) and Mel B. (Scary Spice).
Is Tom Sandoval going to follow in his ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix’s footsteps?
Former DWTS pro Cheryl Burke made a bold prediction. She thinks that Pump Rules star Tom Sandoval will be part of the cast. He rocketed to fame for cheating on his girlfriend, Ariana Madix, with her friend.
After all that drama, Ariana was on fire last season, placing third. Watching Sandoval samba around the ballroom could be divisive for the audience. His Scandoval redemption arc didn’t go as planned. So, there are still people who aren’t happy with him.
But being on DWTS has been Sandoval’s dream, and the man even took ballroom lessons. Sigh. I’m not sure that America is ready.
The DWTS Season 33 cast announcement is months away, but I’m excited thinking about some of these celebrities possibly donning their dance shoes.
Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars will return this fall on ABC, Disney+, and Hulu.
