Kyle Richards doesn’t seem too phased by the Real Housewives of New Jersey’s canceled reunion. In fact, the Beverly Hills OG said she thinks they’re dodging a massive bullet.
Kyle said Bravo’s canceled reunion is a cop-out
In an interview with People, Kyle commented on the news that fans won’t see Teresa Giudice fighting with Melissa Gorga at the end of the season. “Gosh, it seems like an easy way out,” she said. “It seems like they get to dodge a bullet.”
Fans of RHONJ know the series has been in a sunken place for some time. With cast members refusing to speak and film with each other, Andy Cohen commented on the series’ plans. “I do want to give some context to the announcement over the weekend that there was gonna be no Jersey reunion because I feel like there are a lot of theories about what this could mean,” he said. “I think that the main thing is, this will all make sense once you see the finale.”
“It’s in the great tradition of absolute shocking, dramatic Jersey finales and they have this final epic group encounter, which is like, it feels like The Last Supper and is just so Jersey,” Andy revealed. “And it’s shocking, and it’s dramatic, and it’s amazing TV.”
Garcelle Beauvais said Housewives reunions are like the “Super Bowl”
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills veteran Garcelle Beauvais also spoke on the Jersey announcement. In her statement, she noted the reunions are what the Real Housewives is all about.
“That’s a part of the [show], right? So, not to have it is a little shocking. But there’s gotta be a reason for it, whether it’s toxicity or something,” she said.
Later, when asked, the actress said she’d love to skip a reunion; however, the sitdowns are the climax of Bravo shows. “I would always want to skip it [laughs]. But it’s the Super Bowl—it’s the Super Bowl of what we do.”
Real Housewives of New Jersey continues on Sundays at 9/8c.
