Dina Manzo’s Ex-Husband Tommy Convicted of Hiring ‘Reputed Mobster’ to Assault Her Boyfriend

Justice has finally caught up to Dina Manzo’s ex-husband Tommy Manzo. After years of back-and-forth with the court system, he’s been convicted for his role in hiring a mobster to assault Dina’s now-husband, David Cantin.

The attack happened back in 2015. Tommy hired a man named John Perna, who prosecutors said was a “soldier in the Lucchese Crime Family.” In exchange for assaulting David, John received a heavily discounted rate for a lavish wedding at The Brownstone.

Over the last few years, Tommy has tried to have his case tossed out. He even had the full support of Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Caroline Manzo and Dolores Catania. They wrote character witness statements praising Tommy, in hopes that the courts would go easy on him.

At one point, Tommy did have the case dismissed due to something called the Speedy Trial Act. Essentially, the feds took too long to move the case forward so they had to dismiss it on a technicality. That didn’t get him out of the clear. Prosecutors were able to refile the charges, and this time, they didn’t waste any time moving the case forward.

According to Us Weekly, the case was recently presented to a federal jury, and they found Tommy guilty of “conspiracy, falsifying and concealing documents, and committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering activity.”

Tommy is facing 46 years in prison for his role in the crime, and he’s set to be sentenced on October 15. Meanwhile, the guy who actually assaulted David has already served his time. In 2020, he pleaded guilty to “committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering activity.” He received two and a half years in prison and was released last summer.
