Which Below Deck Stars Attended Captain Sandy Yawn’s Wedding?

It’s official. Captain Sandy Yawn is a married woman! The Below Deck Mediterranean star tied the knot with Leah Shafer in an intimate ceremony this month. Of course, it all happened on a superyacht because where else would Captain Sandy get married? On Instagram, she shared a ton of pictures of the big day, and they seriously looked adorable.

With that said, when we found out that Captain Sandy would be walking down the aisle, we immediately assumed that her wedding would be like a mini-Below Deck reunion. It turns out that wasn’t the case. She opened up to Us Weekly about which below Deck stars made the invite list. There weren’t many, and here’s a hint: Hannah Ferrier wasn’t one of them.

According to Sandy, they had a very strict 60-person capacity for their wedding. There’s only so much room on a superyacht, so they had to be super selective with whom she invited. She ended up only being able to include two Below Deck stars, one of the show’s executive producers, and the Vice President of Current Production for Bravo.

“We only had a capacity of 60 people. So with our family and our intimate friends, it was hard to invite people that we really wanted there from Bravo,” Sandy explained.

The captain continued, “So we had the people that have been in our lives since the beginning. Because they saw me, [when] I was single when I started the show. Then everybody knows when I met Leah because that’s all I talked about.”

Sandy revealed that both Kate Chastain and Aesha Scott were the lucky two who snagged seats at the wedding. Andy Cohen also received an invite but didn’t attend. Instead, Sandy said he sent them a “very generous gift.”

When explaining her decision to exclude some pretty prominent Below Deck alums like Malia White and Captain Lee Rosbach, Sandy made it clear that there was no shade intended. It really just came down to the fact that they didn’t have a ton of space on the superyacht.

“I would love to have Bugsy Drake. But we couldn’t invite everyone because 60 people [was the] capacity,” Captain Sandy explained.

For those of us who didn’t get an invite to the wedding, at least there’s a generous amount of Instagram pics to live through. And, if you need more Captain Sandy, the newlywed will be back on our screens soon with another season of Below Deck Med.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 premieres June 3 at 9/8c on Bravo.
