It turns out Lindsay Hubbard’s new man isn’t exactly a new man. He’s a blast from the past, and she’s giving him a second shot at love. It couldn’t be any worse than her last relationship, right?
The Summer House star opened up about her new-ish romance during an episode of the Bitch Bible podcast. She did a deep dive into how they met, what went wrong the first time, and why she thinks the second time around will be different.
Second time’s a charm
“He’s wonderful. I actually met him and went out with him three-and-a-half years ago,” Lindsay revealed. “Some of my friends call it a boomerang, where you go out the first time, the timing wasn’t right, and they come back around. So, that’s basically what happened.”
According to Lindsay, she first met this new guy back in 2020. COVID was raging, but she somehow found time between lockdowns to go on a few dates with this guy. She said he was trying to figure out his “career moves.” The timing was off and he ended up cutting things off.
“It was the nicest text ever because most guys just ghost you, or fade away, or disappear or whatever,” Lindsay recalled. “He did none of that.”
She continued, “Back then, he was like, ‘Hey, I am not in a place where I can be in anything serious.’ He’s like, ‘I get the sense that maybe you want something more,’ and he’s like, ‘and I’m not there right now. And I don’t want to waste your time, and out of respect for you, I felt like I needed to tell you that.'”
Based on that text alone, this guy does seem like a class act. When he “boomeranged” back to her in December 2023, she couldn’t resist giving him another chance. They hit it off, and the rest is history.
When describing her new beau, Lindsay said he makes her “happy in the bedroom,” and he has a “great job.” He’s checking all of the boxes. Even better, he’s never seen an episode of Summer House, and she said he’s totally “unphased’ by her reality TV career.
“He’s never watched the show,” Lindsay revealed. “It’s really refreshing.”
